Surely something good happened to you today

At long last, and after many years of searching, i tracked down the final person that I’d insisted should see the new series of Battlestar Galactica and gave them my heartfelt apology.

I wouldn't mind some explanations.;)

Were you disappointed after you gave high marks to that series?

Did you have a plan?

My son and I were driving an hour to see Shazam and we realized about half an hour into the drive that neither of us was terribly enthused to see it, considering that it was probably too centered on kids, so we decided to have a relaxed lunch instead and just hit the hobby stores that we each like and have a fun day hobby shopping instead. A good day for sure.

^ sounds wonderful!

I have questions too!

I persuaded many non sci fi friends and colleagues that BSG was the greatest television show they were ever likely to see. Naturally, I assumed that the cylon plan was part of some intricate plot and that the eventual payoff would reward compulsive viewing. I was very wrong.

That is funny.

That made me :guffaw:

There are a few stand out episodes but I haven't rewatched the series. Also, it's awkward knowing that the Cally actress was mixed up in that cult with Smallville's Alyson Mack.

Today, I went to a comic con. It started off a bit clunky but I took it as a good omen. The train journey took 40-45 mins when it's usually 20 mins. I waited outside in the rain to buy a ticket. And... The escalator stopped working when I finally got inside.

The guest line up was small but I met some cool people. Three Game Of Thrones actors including Sam Coleman/young Hodor and three Buffy cast members including Nicholas Brendon/Xander. The Akira English dub voice actor Joshua Seth was there too.

Overall, it was chatty and friendly. A great time. I nearly stayed a whole day when I usually leave after a couple of hours.

Well, for a sci-fi show, it was pretty well-rounded with something for everybody. The ending was controversial, and there were lots of things that I wish had been different, but no regrets. I'd still compulsively view it again. :)

Yeay con season!

I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Hoping to talk my husband into going to one in Nov and possibly one in August too!

A friend of mine won a nice sum at a (legal) betting game and he was so happy he invited me (and a few other people) to dinner (we had a very good time).

My cousin's now-deceased ex-husband won $5,000 at a casino. Naturally, he quit his job.
