Today was my second appointment for a smart meter fitting. The engineer emailed me saying he was arriving this afternoon when I was expecting him in the morning. I queried this (and also the entirely extraneous gas meter that had crept in). Then I realised I was wrong and rushed out to do this morning the things I'd planned to do this afternoon. Only to come home to two emails, one saying he'd come in the morning, and the other to say he was here and couldn't get an answer.
I emailed explaining what had happened and apologising. I just couldn't believe that things had gone wrong again. I was in a bit of a state about it (okay, a lot of a state about it)
2.30pm, the engineer rings the doorbell. He'd come back! He coped with me shaking and struggling to make sense - very calm, very kind, very helpful. The meter is fitted.
Now that's what I call "outrageously good" customer service.
