Surely something good happened to you today

I have no idea about "tiers." We just have one bill and rate never changes no matter whether we use a little or a lot. Our electric bill for the new house has been pretty good. The old house was drafty as hell and has a POS air conditioner, so bills were super high for 5 months of every year. So far, this house has been pretty good with the electric bill. We'll see how much hubby's charger adds to it.
If you have a "smart" electric meter, you may be eligible for special rates, especially if you do your charging during the overnight hours.
I'm with San Diego Gas & Electric (even though I'm not even in San Diego County) and I was able to get a different rate tier based upon time of day. The fun part is paying more to have the electricity sent to me ($112) than to generate it ($81).

I can download my hourly power usage and when there's a big difference in power used, that's when the car is most likely charging. Normally, I would charge after midnight, but the wife works third shift so must charge prior to midnight.

Hubby is on a home-improvement tear---which suits me just fine. He put up our floating shelves, so the crystal can go up. He finally put the coat rack up on the wall, and now he's working on replacing the bathroom faucets. I'm working today, so I can't leave my desk for 8.5 hrs.

OK, break is over. Back to work.

A new house and you already need new faucets?

Oh man, if the anti-grav generator ever goes down (and you know how finicky those things are) those shelves and crystal are coming down fast.

Note: you can skip a step if you have odometer readings from year-end to year-end and divide by 12. (my insurance company finds them interesting.)

Mine does too. The deal is, if I can prove I drove less than XXX amount of miles for the year I will get a discount rate for the next year's premium. Sounds great right... but they never believe my claims for how much I drove for the year, even when I provide photos of the dam odometer!

My insurance gave all clients a blanket COVID reduction, they assumed we'd all be driving less. I forget the % but it was noticable. I even got a backdated credit. (Hey, that was even on topic! Something good that happened to me that day.)

Six months ago, my family doctor detected a lump on my prostate which turned out to be a very aggressive form of cancer. Thanks to early detection and a great surgeon (performed Robotic Prostatectomy), he told me good news that I'm most likely cancer free (for now) and my recovery from the prostatectomy is way ahead of the curve. < Joy! >

Good to hear! :bolian:

2022: the year I finally caved and got a cell phone. I'm not convinced this is actually something good, but every one else sure seems to be.
I wanted to let you know about your car's extended warranty...

I'm with the Police Auxiliary League and can we count on your support with your non-tax-deductible contribution to help with our fundraising efforts?

我與警察輔助聯盟在一起,我們能否指望你們的支持,你們的不可抵稅捐款有助於我們的籌款工作

I need a couple of apps for work, otherwise I'd ditch mine in a second and go back to a basic flip phone. Preferably one that looks like a TOS communicator. The most advanced feature I'd need is a "chirp chirp" when I open it. And maybe a "Spock here, captain" ringtone. ;)
