Surely something good happened to you today

Best Buy has a reward program, I think it's Reward Zone. I haven't even bought anything there for years but I ended up ordering a refrigerator through them. Just for the heck of it I signed in to the reward thing and since my birthday is this month I got 10% off the fridge ($230)!
If anyone needs something from Best Buy you might try it.
Sweet. Gonna have to check it out.

Weather's been ok lately and it's almost the end of the week.

Maybe you can find a recipe for lavender guacamole. :D
that's not such a bad idea as it sounds at first :) I think the two might go together with the help of a finely chopped apple and a few cranberries. A sort of sweet guacamole / relish. I'll try that tonight with Apfelküchel

In the meantime, I've been feasting on avocado salad with prawns, avocado-salmon toast, avocado pasta, potato patties with avocado-cottage cheese and of course fresh avocado with just a little pinch of salt.
There are only 4 bruised avocados left now and I'm starting to get addicted
and there's something good:
With an avocado a day I don't feel so exhausted anymore. YAY! They seem to have some enzyme or vitamin I've been lacking.

Got our second stimulus check today. Hooray! With all the money we've spent lately, it's nice to get some back. I feel a bit guilty about it, since we don't really need it in the way that others do, but it's sure nice to have. We are about to make a *very* big purchase (for us, anyway) so it's nice to get something back.

Went to the dentist today for a cleaning and he found no cavities or other problems. Also, on the way home, there was a sudden downpour and it washed away the bug splat that has been in my line of sight on the windshield. A double happy!

Don't you love that? It's like Mother Nature's way of saying, "Here, let me get that for you."

Had a good birthday and birthday dinner.
Happy Birthday!

I FINALLY got my pipe fixed.

I realized several months ago, there was water on the floor of my downstairs bathroom when I ran water in my upstairs bathroom. I tried more than once to book an appointment through HomeAdvisor, they kept canceling. I had a handyman remove the wall in front of the pipe, he recommended the plumbing company he uses. Got them to come, give an estimate. They said they'd call to schedule an appointment to fix it. Over two months and three calls later, I had to get my handyman to call them to badger them to schedule an appointment. Today they FINALLY came and fixed it.

Went with the Moderna one since my mom wasn't really affected by it.

"Went with"? Do you get a choice in which one you get? I am personally *months* away from eligibility, but the general message up here is: don't try to "shop around", just take whichever one you happen to be first offered. (Which is why I'm kind of glad they restricted the AZ one to people older than my age range...)

Got my second vaccine shot Wednesday, worked a full shift Thursday, and now I have today off. Went to the gym by myself yesterday and did a 30 minute workout and barely had the strength to walk back to my car. Will go back Monday, since I only have to work a half-day this Monday. After not doing any regular exercise at ALL for years, this is going to be fucking hard but I would like to NOT die before 60. There's stuff I want to do, and I can't do it if I'm in terrible pain and tired all the time.

I also had my last soda today. I've tried to quit before but now I can say I've done it. I was drinking about 4 cans of soda a day, every single day, for decades. I'm done. I have hot tea with breakfast, and then just drink water or fruit juice.

I've also cut out fries and potato chips, which used to be foods I absolutely craved. However, after having kidney stones from too much salt in my diet, it became a hell of a lot easier to give it up. Nothing like a tiny sharp rock going through one's innards to get one's attention.

So, lots of small steps but steps forwards nonetheless.
