Surak's Soul

PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVEN'T READ SURAKS SOUL. I appreciate it has been out a while but I don't want to be blamed for any spoilers.

I am fairly new to ST books. Surak's Soul is the fourth I have read. I really really enjoyed the book as I did the others. I particularly like how it read like an actual Enterprise episode, I am a massive Enterprise fan so it filled a void.

To defeat Wanderer in the end all it took was for T'Pol to tell it to take them all or none at all and Reed to tell it that Humans are conscious. Have I missed something? I was expecting more.... :wah:

It was a good read so thank you to the person on here who recommended it to me (I can't remember who sorry) I just feel it wrapped up a little too quickly.

I have just ordered a couple of the Rise of the Federation books to try and fill the hole Enterprise has left.

RotF is great. I recently read the first two books and while they are different from a lot of other Trek they are thoroughly enjoyable and do a great job at establishing and evolving the early Federation.

That’s partly why I ordered them being Enterprise and I thought the early days of the federation would be really interesting.

I remember reading “Surak’s Soul” when it came out, and finding it was so-so. Unfortunately that’s all that I remember.

I thought Surak's Soul story was okay . But I thought some of the earlier Enterprise books had better stories . I liked Rosetta and The Romulan war books Miniseries that came out .before the Rise of the Federation books came out.

Surak's Soul came out before all of those. I believe Soul was released during Enterprise's second season, while all the others you mention were released after Enterprise had ended.

I really enjoyed Surak's Soul. I loved T'Pol's inner turmoil.

I do agree though that the end was...abrupt. Almost like the author wrote herself into a corner? That was quite a powerful entity. All things considered though, it's a great read and definitely helps fill the void.
