Okay, good people. Tonight's episode is called "Afterschool Special." Maureen Ryan of the Chicago Tribunes sure seems to like it. I, as usual, will have to record. Hope this thread won't drop off the page. I doubt I'll have time to deal with it during my breaks.

Dorian congrats again about the job, last week I finally (after a year a 5 months of being a temp) got hired on (with a nice little raise) at my place of work. I was sure I was getting fired.

After a year and a half feelings like I was going to go on the unemployment line, its so nice to have even a moderate sense of job security (with things being what they are that doesn't mean much I know).

Half way through an this is turning into one of the bet Supernatural episodes of the series....

Hmmm as much as I like a Lana centric episode on Smallville I would say this is better. Exteremly good background story here.

Excellent character episode. It felt like a Season One ep in terms of Monster of the Week, but with the added bonus of heavy character development that much of early S1 lacked.

Wow. That episode made me weep for the brothers. Their lives have always been unspeakably sad. :( Great character work, thought. Hee. Some of the TWOPsters totally don't get what this eppy was really about. I'm not surprised. Though a few of them do. Some promise in the desert. :guffaw:

Teen Dean was being a jerk (oh, the TWOPsters didn't like that) but his over the top bravado is very consistent with the Dean we first met in episode one, season one. How soon they forget. That wasn't a 30 year old man who'd been to hell and back, who'd watched his father die for him. That was Dean of old, a Dean who'd put up a front but be cut to the quick when a local girl said she felt sorry for him. That's very Dean.

Okay

Know How I love the gore, that we need to see Santa dragging a bloody kid up the cinema and the awesomeness of Headless Gordon.

That was gross. Hand in the food processor, yikes. Yet they had trouble getting the hand shot in the garbage disposal without blood in season one, WTF.

We tend to feel that way every week...And the show always seems to deliver on that too.

I was a little shocked that Dean blasted the possessed coach during the school bus battle. He knows full well that shooting the host wouldn't eliminate the spirit.

Damn this is sad, I love it.

What is interesting is that while both to a degree (thanks to Mary's deal) had part of their lives drawn up for them, Sam has always wanted a different life and yet his destiny has always been be a hunter or die.

Dean (if he had more in the way of a sense of self) has always had the option of what Sam has most desired true free will.

And to this day, while Dean has gotten better about understanding Sam's point of view, I don't think Dean truly gets it.

After watching the preview for next week know what I just realized. During the two parter there was all the hoopla that Sam is having sex with a corpse, which yeah is true (though I bet have those who complained didn't during Buffy or Angel). Yet what I realized is that everyone since the start of season three is having a sex with corpse Sammy. And now of Course corpse Dean.

Lets see how much necrophilla we get before the show ends its run.

Does a body possessed by a demon really count as a corpse? They take over living bodies and Sam thru his abilities is actually able to exorcise them and leave the person living. Ruby's current body is someone who was brain-dead, but not physically dead.

I really liked this episode, this is a very strong season for Supernatural and even when they've gotten away from the Demons vs Angels storyline the non-arc eps are still hitting on all cyllinders.

Ruby's body had flat lined I believe, and they can and do possess corpses. And yeah this season (really with the exception of the two parter) has been fairly strong across teh board. I love it.

I don't watch this show, but I did the the opening with the fa...er...chubby girl beating the crap outta the slut and drowning her in the toilet.

Best precredits sequence ever?
