Supernatural Season 9 (Spoilers)

It was cute the way they broke the fourth wall, but then worked it into the story so that they really weren't. It reminded me of the creative storytelling techniques that comics used to use thirty or forty years ago.

So this episode didn't seem to have much of a plot, although there were developments. We find that Metatron has pretty much reached God-like levels of power, being able to blow out the holy fire, and can re-write reality to a certain degree (although the results may be unpredictable). His desire to be entertained by the story will be his undoing (I love how they used him to satirize writers as megalomaniacs who want to control their private universes-- it's all true! :rommie:). And Cass, to no one's surprise, will be leading the Angels after all.

He's like an evil Billy Crystal.
Isn't that redundant? :rommie:

That was a fun episode. I liked the ending song, too. So Castiel, being a hesitant leader, now decides to lead an army of angels against Metatron.

Gadreel really hit a nerve when he said Dean was a "clingy, needy bottomfeeder" who would rather "drag everyone into the mud" rather than be lonely.

Loneliness is a cloak you wear
A deep shade of blue is always there

The sun ain't gonna shine anymore
The moon ain't gonna rise in the sky
The tears are always clouding your eyes
When you're without love ...

Beating someone unconscious in the street, sticking them in a car and then transporting them to the kill site... Or leading them by their dick to slaughter.

Not a great episode, but I loved seeing the Sheriff again; I like her. So, now she has someone to look after. I think the only thing we really gained from this is Sam finally cluing in to the fact that Dean has gone Darkside.

So the Sheriff got knocked out twice in under 24 hours. What would the real life effects be?

Nausea and vomiting, short-term memory loss-- TV characters are immune to all that. :rommie:

Hey, at least she survived the episode! (I love seeing her, but I worry every time she's on that this'll be the time they kill her off.) My son wandered by, looked at the tv, and said, "Wait, two female characters and they're still alive at the end of the show? Are you sure you're watching Supernatural?"

So, next week is the backdoor pilot for the spin-off. From the brief clip I saw (hip, pretty, young urban professionals battling the monster-mob-families of Chicago)......eh. Not terribly impressed, but I guess we'll see how it plays out next week.

Pretty good episode. It was a nice break from the angel/demons storyline which I find is getting real old so I hope it ends soon. Next week's preview...the spin off looks to be a bit too much like the typical CW show.

Deadline.com has started handicapping the new pilots, and this one is not doing well. The Flash and iZombie on the other hand are shoe ins from what they say.

We did get some nice stuff for Sherrif Mills, but the story itself wasn't anything to exciting. I wonder if Alexis/Anne will be a recurring character now?
Looking forward to the spin-off pilot next week.

Becoming a hunter trainee herself would be the logical route for Alex...
