Supernatural Season 9 (Spoilers)

Does anyone even remember the plot of this season? Metatron kicked the angels out of Heaven to fumigate or something. Now there's a Angel turf war on Earth where Castiel, Metatron, and Bowling Guy are fighting over something.

I honestly have no idea what's going on or why I (or even Sam and Dean) should care about any of it.
Yes, and it's been pretty easy to keep track of, too.

As for the spin-off, I can honestly say that unless it's about the rebuilding of the Men of Letters, I'm not going to be all that interested in anything they put out. It's just too obvious of a choice to ignore it; and if they can't see that, then I've lost any faith I have in them producing anything else worth watching.

Enlighten me. Perhaps it's simply lack of interest, but I truly don't know what's going on with Metatron and the Angel Civil War.

Last season, Metatron revealed (when he was being interrogated by Naomi) how much he hated angels, how special he felt having been chosen as God's scribe, and how upset he was when God abandoned him and the rest of creation. When that happened, he knew the other archangels would try to steal all the knowledge he possessed, so he fled Heaven and hid on Earth. Since then, his hatred has grown, and now he wants revenge.

To see that revenge through, he used Castiel's naitivity to put together a grandiose spell that would eject all of the angels from Heaven and lock the gates. Which he clearly did, leading to the Fall.

Now, all most of the angels want is to return home, but many are conflicted because unlike the more enlightened ones -- such as Castiel -- who have experienced a semblance of free will, they don't know what to do. Those strong enough began putting together factions, each with the goal of breaking back into Heaven and exacting their own revenge on Metatron (and, in turn, several of them also desiring to take over as God).

As to why the Winchester's want to see this over and done with? Angels are dicks. Many of them are as bad, if not worse, than the other monsters inhabiting Earth, and that's sort of their schtick. Even worse, with the Heavenly gates closed, the dead are unable to pass on to Heaven, and are stuck here, with the very real possibility of them going mad and becoming dangerous ghosts. So even if they didn't give a fuck about the angels, there's that.

And during all this, Abbadon returned and was trying to take over Hell. It was wholly unrelated to everything else that was going on, but linked in that the only weapon that could kill her also has the potential to kill Metatron (and anything else). So, even though the war over Hell was unrelated, it lead to the Winchester's ace-in-the-hole for finally putting an end to Metatron.

I'd want it to be overseas. I'm thinking Hong Kong based. You get away with english-speaking characters since a lot of people in HK do speak English. You have a large Asian community in Vancouver so you can find guest stars and actors to fit the parts as well. Then you get delve more into monsters of Asian mythologies since HK is a huge port and you could have creatures from China/India/Japan/etc... folklore show up.

At once? No. That would be a good one. Castiel as last man standing. :rommie:

Or a cliffhanger where the twist is that absolutely nothing bad happens at the very end. Everyone is fine, no one dies or gets stuck in a hell dimension and the villain is utterly defeated.

And then Dean and Sam look at each other totally freaked out because they can't deal with that and ominous music plays.

I'd like an 1800s show featuring Samual Colt, along with that century's Men of Letters. Colt would be a cranky sort, kind of like Bobby of course, and the MoL would constantly be at odds with his methods.

It's been a weak season, but this finale more than makes up for that. So Dean as the big bad for season 10? An Angelus sort of situation?
