Supernatural Season 9 (Spoilers)

Wow, I did not expect Kevin to be killed. Great episode, and a nice set up for the next part of the season.

Great mid-season finale.

Kevin will be missed.

The final moments with Dean, in shock, looking at Kevin and saying his name was some of the best acting that Jensen Ackles has ever done.

When Metatron revealed Ezekiel as a fraud, I thought for sure that the Angel in Sam was Lucifer. Freed from his cage by Metatron's spell. I'm a little sorry that I was wrong, but an original story is better than a rehash.

Oh, yes, and of course. Poor, poor Kevin. I really liked that kid and was hopeful that he would join the upcoming spinoff. :(

Very good midseason finale. Poor Kevin. :( He did end up getting screwed, but can Dean do something to resurrect him, like what he did for Charlie when she was killed by the Wicked Witch?

That was Zeke -- er, Gadreel -- who brought Charlie back, so I don't think that's going to happen. (Unless maybe Gadreel feels remorseful enough to do so later, but I doubt it.)

Right, I'm aware of that. But I wasn't being literal about what Dean did. I know he doesn't have any super abilities, but I wonder if he'll ask Castiel or maybe Crowley to bring Kevin back to life.

 What would Lulu have been doing up in heaven?

Damn, that was a shocker. I never expected Kevin to be killed. I thought he would find his mom alive by the end of the season. :(

Also surprising was finding out that Zeke is not Zeke. And this Angel is the guy that let the snake into the Garden of Eden-- given how easily he's being manipulated by Metatron, it's not hard to see how that happened. He's a bit simple.

And Cass is back in the saddle, while Metatron thinks he's God. This oughtta be fun. :rommie:

It's Gadriel, not Gadreel. You know, like Castiel, Uriel, Samadriel, Gabriel, or just about any other angelic name with a similar suffix.

There are a few such as Azrael etc with a slightly different spelling but "-iel" = "of god" so it tends to be there.

Metatron's spell banished all angels to Earth, but perhaps the spell wasn't specific on the FROM part of the equation. God probably never considered the possibility of an angel being in Hell when he created the spell.

So, with Kevin dead, a new prophet has been "triggered" somewhere else. Sooo...if Kevin is brought back to life, he won't be a prophet any longer, right?

^Only if he is really most sincerely dead and not just mostly dead.

I wonder how long Cas can keep his stolen grace?

No, Metatron's spell specifically expelled all angels from Heaven, as opposed to sealing them in Heaven as it was disguised. That was the whole point of the spell. Earth just ended up being the destination for most if not all of them.

See Buffy and her still being the slayer when she died and Kendra and later Faith was called.
She was still the slayer but now there were 2 at the same time

Shit. I thought the episode was over 50 minutes in and turned off my recording. I was wondering what the hell you were talking about with Kevin dying

I'm going with the caption, which spelled it as Gadreel.

Yup. Also, Entertainment Weekly, TV Online, and the A.V. Club spelled it "Gadreel" in their articles.

Ahh. *nods* Okay, gotcha. :)

Could this be a case where there are two spellings? When I looked up Gadriel on Wikipeida it worked (although it took me Azreal's page), so it seems to be a recognized spelling.
