It's Gadriel, not Gadreel. You know, like Castiel, Uriel, Samadriel, Gabriel, or just about any other angelic name with a similar suffix.
Very good midseason finale. Poor Kevin. He did end up getting screwed, but can Dean do something to resurrect him, like what he did for Charlie when she was killed by the Wicked Witch?
That was Zeke -- er, Gadreel -- who brought Charlie back, so I don't think that's going to happen. (Unless maybe Gadreel feels remorseful enough to do so later, but I doubt it.)
When Metatron revealed Ezekiel as a fraud, I thought for sure that the Angel in Sam was Lucifer. Freed from his cage by Metatron's spell. I'm a little sorry that I was wrong, but an original story is better than a rehash.

No, Metatron's spell specifically expelled all angels from Heaven, as opposed to sealing them in Heaven as it was disguised. That was the whole point of the spell. Earth just ended up being the destination for most if not all of them.Metatron's spell banished all angels to Earth, but perhaps the spell wasn't specific on the FROM part of the equation. God probably never considered the possibility of an angel being in Hell when he created the spell.
So, with Kevin dead, a new prophet has been "triggered" somewhere else. Sooo...if Kevin is brought back to life, he won't be a prophet any longer, right?
That would be a good way for the show to double its prophets.

I'm going with the caption, which spelled it as Gadreel.

Right, I'm aware of that. But I wasn't being literal about what Dean did. I know he doesn't have any super abilities, but I wonder if he'll ask Castiel or maybe Crowley to bring Kevin back to life.
