Supernatural Prequel with John and Mary in the works

Given the choice, I would have much rather gotten Wayward Sisters, I liked those characters a lot, and the story set up in the backdoor pilot seemed like it had potential. Didn't they eventually tie up the story in another Supernatural episode?

I haven't seen the Wayward sisters in Supernatural yet

This prequel idea is still not catching my attention. After 15 years watching Supernatural I don't know if I want to invest my time in this. I will probably wait to see what people's reactions are like first.

Me, too. Wayward Sisters would've been a MUCH better idea. It wasn't ever really tied up--a just a mention that they all survived and kept going. We saw Donna in the "final apocalypse episode" so Dean could see her get snuffed out, but they were all brought back by Jack, with no memory of what had happened, of course.

The PTB really dropped the ball. Wayward Sisters would've been the better choice by far, but I guess they couldn't bear to have a show with all female leads.

That's a shame, it would have been nice to at least get the arc they set up in the backdoor pilot tied up.

Don't know if anyone here is gonna watch The Winchesters, but Tom Welling has been cast as Samuel Campbell (played by Mitch Pileggi in Supernatural), Mary's father.

My wife and I are probably going to watch it after we have finished Supernatural

I'm trying to figure out how this is going to actually fit into the Supernatural timeline. Do we have any clue as to how it is going to co-exist within the Supernatural continuity?

The wrapper of the story is that Dean is telling us about them. Like ‘How I Met Your Mother’.

OK, watched it. Sort of like Scooby Doo, van included. Still having a hard time getting around the continuity problems-- it's really bugging me. Plus the SPN Mary is not this Mary at all.

I guess the jury is still out.

I’m sure they’ll address the continuity stuff. This isn’t a Kurtzman production after all. :)
I need to work out the ending. When was Dean by himself? Probably would have worked better if it was Sam

If anyone here collects physical media, that insanely expensive Supernatural complete series Blu-ray box set is down to $130 today with the Prime Early Access sale.

I liked it. They’ll probably pull an Amneisa plot by the end to explain how John didn’t know any of this shit.

The big bad is a threat to all creation, so I wonder if we’ll see angels

Gil McKinney, who played Henry Winchester on Supernatural, will be playing.... Henry Winchester.

But he’s supposed to be trapped until the 2010’s.
Is it in flashbacks? Must be.
He narrated the letter in this episode, I imagine it will stay as stuff like that, and flashbacks.
But they've already retconned other things from Supernatural, so.

I don't like the sound FX they're doing to the demon voices.
