New episode tonight, good people. All new episodes until the season finale now. Looks good. I, per usual, will be working late so I decided to start the thread now. Hopefully it won't fall to the second page in the interim. Good times. :techman:

Thank goodness. March and April are just painful. Two whole months, but you're lucky to get four episodes between them because they're not sweeps periods.

My two biggest fear with "Ghost" bobby were:

1. That he can be used in pretty much any situation, as a means to help out (in life Bobby was more of a source of intel then an agent in the field). And now that's seriously a possibility.

They can even do it when they don't pay for Jim Beaver to guest star. After all what logical reason would Dean choose not to Bring the flask with him?

They really need something to limit this. Which this episode doesn't, it actually starts showing Bobby how to really interact.

2. That the boys would go all for one big happy family reunion. That the joy of seeing their friend would easily trump their natural desire to process that Bobby will become a monster. THis isn't a possibility that could occur (like with Sam, for example), but an out and out certainty.

So what does this episode do. It absolutely nailed this concern I have. With the boys not happy. Pondering the morality of it, and how unnatural it is. And if they are actually happy about it. THe last five minutes with them, and Bobby and just them was very solid material.

The only thing that could have actually improved that would have been if they brought up should they actually force Bobby to pass on.

One thing about the episode that did bother me.

What happens to Ghost after they are killed?

I thought they went to Purgatory. Or are not Ghost's monsters?

In fact that was why I assumed Eve could take Mary's form. That as a destroyed spirit she would have been in Purgatory.

Oh well. On that issue there is certainly wiggle room.

A note on the casting of Anne. Now that's a woman that you believe could be a hunter. Similar to Ellen. Attractive women, but where you can see the harder life on them. I LOVE that.

I know Dean and Sam are attractive, but for th emost part the show really underplays their natural attractiveness. So that you can see the weight of their lives on their faces, a lot. With guest actors that's harder. So casting a certain physical type really, really helps sell someone as a hunter.

More please.

Loved this episode. I liked that Bobby finally figured out how to interact with things and how the boys reacted. They *should have* been horrified, and they were.

I liked the glimpse into the "ghost world" and most of them were just empty shells; it's a good reminder of what Bobby will eventually become. I can't wait to see more!

Oh my God, that made me so sad. :( Bobby's here, but he shouldn't be here. He can't let go. Dean and Sam better than anyone know that these things don't end well. How many people died because Sam and Dean came back? They've saved lives, and they've caused deaths.

That being said, loved Annie. Jamie Luner rocks the house. She's a female character they should have had all along. Reminds me of Ellen. I liked the mention of Harvelle's in heaven.

Now that's this show's strength. The characters. The interactions. That's always been its strength. That's why I still love it. And I love Bobby. I don't want him to go, but he can't stay. I think Castiel will be able to take him into the light eventually. It'll be wrenching when Bobby finally has to say goodbye to his boys permanently. :wah:

Prediction, Bobby got "powered up" by absorbing the evil ghost, who was shrieking that he wouldn't go.

Evil ghost (sorry can't remember its name) is still in Bobby and will eventually surface. The boys will have to burn the flask.

VERY interesting ending. Just what are they going to do with Bobby now?...And let's not forget Dean's motto: "Dead things should stay dead".
Will be sad to see if they don't find another alternative to get Bobby into heaven, will Dean or Sam destroy the flask???
Gotta admit I had a unbelievable belly laugh when Bobby said- "Suck this Swayze!"

You never know. It could be the only upper advantage they have against the Leviathans.

What I gathered at the end of the episode, I doubt very much that Sam and Dean are going to go that route.

That is what has happened through all 8 seasons, I don't think any hunter knows.
Perhaps that is why Dean is seriously considering his own belief because his very close friend, and "father-figure" is the ghost/monster.

In fact that was why I assumed Eve could take Mary's form. That as a destroyed spirit she would have been in Purgatory.

I was just thinking that the other day when it was on TNT. Maybe Eve being as all-powerful as she was used her Skinwalking abilities to gather enough DNA from Sam or Dean to assume her form?...I don't know....

This is the one of the few episodes this year I really liked, mainly because it starred Ghost Bobby
