SUPERNATURAL 4x11 "Family Remains" SPOILERS and discussion thread

Thing is. I don't know of anyone who wouldn't do what Dean did in that position. I mean.. it's Hell.

true... most people only think of torture as being physical... but I believe hell has a corner on the psychological kind of torture...

In many ways how I feel about this episode is how I felt about 2nd seasons "Playthings". An episode I didn't love or hate, but had aspects I really enjoyed, but a story that I just wasn't overwhelmed with.

I love the fact that we are seeing Dean basically turning into Sam (mid season 2), where he feels he absolutely must work full time saving others. The difference is that Dean doesn't think any amount of people saved, will make up for what he has done. While Sam felt that he had to save others to possible save himself.

I love the fact that Dean took pleasure in torturing others.

I am tired of Dean confessions and heart to hearts being set on or near the car. Sure the car is Dean's home, but still its getting a little bit much. And sure its a logical thing, not only is it Dean's home and comfort zone, but the guys probably spend a huge amount of time stuck in that car. But I would like to see them mix it up a little more.

I don't see Dean as going evil. Nor can I see him trying to escape his personal hell, buy killing himself (and most likely being sent bak to real hell).

But it does help show why his reaction to Sam's use of his abilities and Ruby were amped from anything he had shown in the first three seasons.

And it really helps punch him in the chance that Sam might go evil or be killed and damned.

And damn it I want Sam to say or do something. Sure it isn't going to make what happened better, but something. Of course, I am sure that he knows his brother well enough that a hug, or speech isn't welcomed, but I still want to see him try.

I do have a question about this show and this is better than making a new thread.

When Dean was in hell, the person that made life (hell) for Dean was Alastair.

We no how Dean got out of hell, we know how ruby and most of the demons did too when the gate was open.
But since the whole Dean in hell was after the gate was open, how did Alastair get out?

I took from the show that its hell to get out and even Ruby said no one has the power to break loose.

So how in hell did Alastair get the hell out of HELL?

If its that easy to break out then why does Dean and Sam go through the hassle to send demons back to hell then when they can just turn around and come back?

Kind of pointless dont you think?

I understand the evil spirits that haunt homes or what not cause they never went to hell, they just died and never let go.

Or some of the weird creatures that they killed, hell even green eyes makes me wonder how he got back up here too. What does everyone else think?

Does being really evil get you an ( a get out of hell card?)

Some particularly bad ass demons are able to crawl out if they keep trying year after year after year. Remember that the demon killing knife couldn't kill Alastair when Dean stabbed him? Oh, that tickles:devil:

Not to burst any bubbles here, but I've heard rumours that this may be Supernatural's last season. Can anyone confirm this? If so that would be crappy. I saw this episode though, and it scared the crap out of me the first time I watched it!

Ive seen nothing official either way, and not sure how the ratings are to how much the show cost.

When do they normaly give the green light on another season and how far into filming rest of this season are they?

Well the first time I heard about it was when the CW was thinking about creating that Dick Greyson series (Robin) and then a friend of mine the other night told me he's also heard that this could be the last season for Supernatural. I haven't seen anything official about it yet, either.

I've noticed that this season though is a bit less "scary" as the previous three now since the angels are on board. It seems as though the demons have tampered off a bit, and that's what made the show interesting. Not that I have anything against angels, but it seems to have soften the show a bit.

The best depiction of the Devil I have seen is in The Devil's Advocate. It was played to perfection by Pacino. My all tiem favorite scene from any movie ever is between him and Keanu Reeves. Reeves tries to blame him for all the bad thing he did and he points out that he made all of those decisions on his own and even cautioned him against making them. Perfect.

Supernatural is in absolutely no danger of being cancelled, none. There ratings are better then last years, their demos are higher then last year, and CW has so many holes in their schedule that there is no doubt of it being cancelled this year.

The only possible problem is if the CW closes up shop as a network this year (and with the CW who knows) and if that occurs then Supernatural would be cancelled by default.

There is zero chance of Supernatural being cancelled. It will have a fifth season. The only way it won't is exactly as mswood says--if the CW ceases to exist next year. Their precious baby Gossip Girl crashed and burned against a new episode of House moved to Mondays for the first time. Viewership in the low 2 millions and it lost an entire point in the CW's treasured 18-34 demo and young womens demo. Only a 1.3 in that demo when it's regularly been scoring above a 2.0 I told people that House was a monster in the young womens demo. They didn't believe, but I speak the truth. :bolian: That's gotta cheese Dawn off big time.
