No, the tornadoes hit just north and east of the metro yesterday. I lucked out again. Bad weather in the plains states these days. Yikes. 
Well, the plains states are called tornado alley for a reason.
Half an hour in, and I can tell you that you are going to LOVE THIS EPISODE.
LOVE. IT. It's gory, it's fun, it's angsty, and it has RUFUS!! Kripke mentioned a new character who might be back recurring next season. It's Rufus. He's a hunter.

I am going to be so upset tonight about Bela. 
I mean really she was a great character.
Probably there best reoccuring character they have had for the last three years. And the chemistry the actress had with the other two actors was just spot on.
I loved how she always brought out the best in the characters of Sam and Dean....
Oh who am I kidding.

I was never bothered much by Bela, more by the circumstances behind her entrance into the story, but that was an awesome way of getting rid of what was an obviously unwanted character.
You know, to be honest, I get the feeling that the Doc Benton storyline was originally meant to be a standalone episode, but the strike obviously forced them to contract things a bit. Sera Gamble did a very good job of blending the two plots together.
I was never bothered much by Bela, more by the circumstances behind her entrance into the story, but that was an awesome way of getting rid of what was an obviously unwanted character.

Ok, that was SWEET. Great episode. Great atmosphere, great gore, and a great way of having Bela (he,he) mirror Dean. In the same way the have had originally Gordon mirror Dean and then Vamp Gordon mirror Sam.
And while I don't blame Bela for getting rid of her parents or being unaware of the cost later, it shows the difference between what one will do to stay alive. Also ties nicely for her motivation for her involvement in the supernatural, but not as a means to help others.
Loved the conflict and discord between Sam and Dean. Not forced in any way, just two brothers desperate to save Dean, through different measures. Also a great highlight for how serious Sam is going. While he doesn't advocate becoming a monster, he advocates using it for more time.
And truly trying to show that he is absolutely willing to do the same for himself, so as not to violate the contract. Dean was willing to go to hell for eternity in his desperation, and Sam was willing to become a organ stealer for eternity for his brother. Thats a lot of love there.
Jus In Belo, A Supernatural Christmas, Fresh Blood and this episode show that while this show can put out a dude every now and again (yes Red Sky at Morning we are talking about you, and others), that it can just nail its material. I mean seriously 15 episodes of the season and in my mind 4 classic episodes. I hope next week we can add one more.
Oh and my god, X. Damn get this man some episodes next season. While the show has created some lame ass hunters (Tamara and her drano drinking husband, Jesus Freak, and Richie for example) for the most part the get in right. John, Bobby, X, Ellen, Gordon and hell even where they ended the hated Jo was great.
Now I just have to wait until this episode finish airing on the west coast to get the preview for next week.

I hope we see Rufus again. Kripke made hints to that effect. I'm still so pissed that every show (except frigging Gossip Girl ) will have their budgets slashed next season. At least SPN got a 22 episode renewal. It may work out in spite of it all; Kripke said in his latest Q&A that they'll focus on character based episodes for the brothers--some of them to do with Mary's history. More of a season one type format.
