Superman

George Reeves remains my favorite Superman. I like Hoechlin and Reeve and Cavill to varying degrees. But from what I've seen thus far, I'm over the Moon about David Corenswet in the role.

Cavill is a workmanlike, second-tier "movie star" at this point - other than more of a knack for accents than a few better actors, he shows no gift for character work. Superman, Solo, March-Phillips, even Walker are the same performance.

That's not necessarily a liability, career-wise; John Wayne didn't have range, but he was an authentic brand. He did all right.

I watched episode two of Lois & Clark today. There's a scene where Lois is thrown from a plane, and I had to laugh at the really dodgy audio editing. As she's falling she lets out an ear-splitting scream and somehow also yells for Superman at the same time. :D

Wel that is easy to explain. Woman can multitask ;)

Star Trek did that a couple of times. Vina as the Rigel Princess was gasping and screaming at the same time - a scream was overlaid in the final cut but isn't in the workprint (it was Fay Wray's unmistakable scream). And they did the same to Uhura in Gamesters of Triskelion as Lars assaults her, just with a different stock scream.

Good times.

I simply don't understand people that seem to care more about the box office take than they do about actually enjoying the experience. It makes zero sense to me.

If this movie underperforms, or overperforms, it doesn't change my life in even the smallest way.
When it comes to certain characters I love (and Superman and Batman are right up), I care about the box office to the extent that I want good (IMO) movies about them to do well as it's the only real incentive for the studios to make more good (IMO) movies about them for me to enjoy.

Quoted for truth. We as fans want more people to go watch these movies so they can be big hits which will cause more ROI for the studios and more movies would get greenlit.
Just cuz some of us are worried about the boxoffice of DCU Superman doesn't mean we want it to fail, it just at this certain time it looks more like it might not succeed to a certain level.

"We?"

I have no worry about it. I don't wish for big hits; I want characters and stories first. If it's a hit, that's a bonus.

I don't care about future movies while watching one.

I can at least get this. If you fall in love with something, then you start wondering if there's going to be more.
Yup, I still feel like we were cheated out of The Rocketeer sequels because nobody came to see the film at the time.

I think it makes sense to want a film you enjoy to succeed, especially if it's one that can spawn other adventures. While all of us wanted good Star Trek movies, I'm pretty sure a lot of fans were hoping they would be financial successes enough to get more, no?
