Superman

Batman is the closest thing we have to "an American James Bond" in some ways. Non-powered dude with cool gadgets who fights weirdos and master criminals. As everything from Adam West to Tim Burton to Christopher Nolan have show, there are a number of successful ways to do the character. I like the idea of a (pre-Craig) Bondian "soft reboot" every few years, with different directors doing their thing.

I remember the cover of Justice League International #16. “His name is Wayne. Bruce Wayne.”

I had that issue. It was funny that Batman said that Bruce Wayne owed him a favor, that's why he was disguised as Bruce Wayne.
I remember the line - "I can assure that underneath this (Bruce Wayne) mask, I'm ugly as sin."
That whole setup was a great variation on the "Batman gathers intel as Bruce" trope that stretches back to the Golden Age, made appearances in the '66 series, the Nolan movie and even the Snyder films and is sadly largely lost in most modern comics.

Love the end, leave it to Mark Waid to pick something totally obscure that seems to be just a silly old story and explain how profound it really is.

Speaking of Waid, btw, my pick is Birthright.

I personally have no idea. The IMDb (yeah, I know) seems to indicate it was finished on film.

What's general opinion on Grant Morrison's New 52 Action Comics run? I've had it on my Comixology account for a while and I was thinking about finally reading it.

I thought he did a fine job of taking the character back to his roots - quite literally in terms of the early storylines - but in a contemporary context. Very energetic.

I liked New 52 Superman in general.

Like most things Morrison, I found it overrated. That’s a minority perception, however.
