Going by the actors ages, I'd think Sam would more likely be a Cure fan than, Lana.

Sam probably just listened to country music when he was younger. Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash and so forth.

Might be a case of young writing staff having a vague sense of the eighties.

Perhaps in this universe the Cure's fame began much later

However this series also has the same problem as the superhero comics. A world where there are aliens, super beings, ultra technology and yet it is practically identical to ours, even with the same musical bands!

I think only Watchmen (comic, film, and series) truly portrayed how different society would be in that context.

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
I had a little angry goth friend in the 90s.

She was cute as a pickle. :)

"Every time some brainless smiley barbie doll mook, says that they finally understand me, because they've seen the Cure's first song "Friday I'm in love", I want to kill somebody."

The Cure sold out in the 90s becoming more relevant and accessable to regular people who wore colours.

That would lean into the "will they / won't they" / "Chrissy is jealous" territory this series does not need. Sam advised Lana to move on, and that should apply to the way she interacts with her ex-husband.

Thought they were planting the seeds of a Lana/John Henry romance.

What he said. The Cure has been around since the early 80s, but didn't get mainstream success until the 90s.

    I would've liked your friend. :D

The Cure fans I knew in the 80s/early 90s were people in their late teens and early twenties.

I first heard them around '81, when I was 13. But I heard them from an older friend.

Clark was into Lana in the 90's so I wonder if he was also a fan of The Cure? Somehow I see Clark being more of a fan of Bryan Adams and 80's bands like Foreigner, Hall and Oates, Journey etc.

I could see that. Also Lisa Loeb. The Judds and Garth Brooks and especially Dolly Parton.

I tend to think of Journey as a 70's band. But I'm from the Bay Area.

That's also because they were a decent band in the 70s and sucked in the 80s. :nyah:

I almost forgot the most underrated great band of that time. Air Supply.

I am all out of Love, what am I without you

And I can't fight this feeling anymore
I've forgotten what I started fighting for
It's time to bring this ship into the shore

Even young and healthy, I never liked two-story homes. They interfere with flow, stairs are always more work than just walking, so you’re less likely to go to the kitchen for a glass of water, or wander over to see what’s happening with someone on the other floor.

He sounded pretty excited about going before he decided he didn’t want to leave Lois alone while he was out having fun.

Perhaps he did like him. Maybe tried to be Goth but got kicked out for smiling to much and refusing to smoke cigarettes,

He should have given Lana Bruce's number.

    correct song.
Incorrect band. This is from REO Speedwagon.

These are the type of songs and bands my wife likes. I married her anyway. :)
