Awesome, simply awesome. Very evocative of the old Superman cartoons, and even of Sky Captain - World of Tomorrow.

The first time I Googled myself, I found many links to other people with my name, links to people named Barbara who identified themselves as "A reader of..." a few links to my phone number, and links at Warner Communication and other DC comics websites to discussions of the letters I wrote (yes, I did reviews even as a kid, but of DC comics...) to the comics letter pages of the DC line back in the 1960s and 1970s. That was scary, freaky, whatever. Reading the discussions, I realized that my passion for Superman was far exceeded by those discussing my letters. When I tried to join in the discussions, they assumed I was some idiot claiming, falsely to be me. (In fact, of course, I was an idiot claiming, truly, to be me.) It was explained that I was the only girl who regularly wrote letters that got published, ("girl letterhack Barbara Reader...?") and I had disappeared and nobody, not Marty Pasko, not Bob Rozakis, or any of my other fellow travelers on those letter pages knew what had become of me.
Yep, I find fandom of both Trek and Superman almost scary in its intensity! But ... FUN!!

No, "Great Scott!" is a correct exclamation for Superman. See e.g. http://www.supermanhomepage.com/other/other.php?topic=superman-greatscott. "Great Scott!" was used many times in Super Friends, which made the last line of dialog in Superman Classic [around 0:53] quite nostalgic for me.
On the other hand, "Great Caesar's Ghost!" is Perry White's exclamation.
I personally smell a CAL ARTS student short here. It seems to follow the traditional format.
Speaking of which...anyone have access to old CAL ARTS student projects? I'm a big fan of these as expressions of each artist and their attitudes and mindsets. I had some old ones a friend shared with me, and I would like to get more. I have some samples from 1987 and also 1992. I love the ones Chris Sanders, Betty Tang, and Lou Romano did.

Umm, the guy is a former Disney animator. It's not a student film.
I'm not insulting the man. As a short it felt like a short like alot of others I've seen from Cal Arts. I've seen some before they were released as a series, like the animated Batman pilot short for Warner by showed me by a friend in 1992. I know that some intro pilot conceptualzation stuff to sell a series to a studio comes in the form of a short. ( Powerpuff girls were a Cal Arts short as many others I've seen over the years as in the link I provided here earlier...)
It just dawned on me that it felt and to me had the flavor like a Cal Arts short, and I commented on it. I liked it no matter what his background was.
