Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

Yeah, and like the Joker the way to go if Zod appears again is to make the character substantially different from the earlier screen iteration.

Which should be easy, since the version of Zod in Superman II had very, very little in common with his comic-book namesake. The original General Zod was a military officer who was a major player in Krypton's space program, and when that program was abandoned following a disaster, he felt betrayed and sought to overthrow what he saw (correctly, as it turned out) as a dangerously short-sighted government. He was something of a Nazi-ish figure, a militant Kryptonian supremacist, but somewhat sympathetic nonetheless. And there have been a variety of different interpretations of Zod in more recent comics as well as in Smallville (though Smallville's version in its 9th season had a number of points in common with the Silver Age Zod -- military leader, somewhat sympathetic, convinced of Kryptonian supremacy).

Everything except for the casting of Henry Cavil is rumor at this point. The fact that Diane Kruger denied she had been contacted for the role should be an indication things are murky when it comes to facts about this movie. Until there is more casting news I'm going to refrain from making any more comments.

Shit, that guy was so booooring in The Tudors. Then again, Superman is an inherently boring character, at least I've always thought so. I ignored the Routh Superman, and I'll ignore this one too. :rommie:

least we still have Captain America

That wasn't even filmed in America! :brickwall:

Nothing is, anymore. America is too expensive. :p

Why do we worry about Latin American immigrants taking dishwashing jobs, when high-paying union movie-makers are being put out of work? Is the US pricing itself out of existence?

^ I said some pages ago that LL would actually be a decent enough, er, LL (though the article says she's not up for that role). However, as I also said, her life and career are such messes that it's hard to see a studio agreeing to cast her in such a major tent-pole movie as this.

meh, i say. I think I only liked her work in Mean Girls and Bobby, that's about it. If she can't get the role as Linda Lovelace then how is she getting this one? Whatever it might be.

I'm another hoping that Lohan pulls through her troubles and becomes a success story along the lines of Drew Barrymore.

Lindsay Lohan as Lana Lang, Charlie Sheen as Lex Luthor, Randy Quaid as Perry White, Amy Locane as Ursa, Sam Jones III as Brainiac.... anyone else I'm leaving out?
