Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

"500 Days of Summer" proved to me that Zooey would be an amazing Lois Lane. I've been harping on this since last year lol.

Regarding Luthor...I will say as I've stated a few times that I wouldn't mind if he was in the background. His presence and influence felt and hinted at but we don't actually see him until the second movie. I could see Brainiac being used as the primary villain in the first movie. The fact is though if this is an origin story Lex will most likely be used and featured prominently. No doubt they will maybe have the friendship between Clark and Lex which has been restored in the comics since Infinite Crisis and since Greg is around...this is another movie that I would love to see you write the adaption for ;)

You guys think Clancy Brown would be too old to play him?

Since CotIE, Lex has grown from being a just a villain into a supporting player in the Superman comics. I think this is partially evidenced by him being included as main character in the last three Superman TV series as opposed to being a villain-of-the-week.* I would be surprised if they didn't include him.

However, at this point, anything can happen (much like, at last report, Jameson isn't appearing in the Spider-Man reboot). Much of it depends on the story, I suppose if Lex is involved or needed.

That being said, if they do include Lex, that doesn't mean he is a villain in the movie. Like the post-crisis Lex, he was more of a general antagonist than outright villain (at least at first).

That being said, if they do include him and as I have mentioned before, I would love to see Faran Tahir get the role. It is not because he is bald, but from the few roles I have seen him in, I think he can do Lex justice. I don't honestly see that actually happening (I have a feeling they would go for a "bigger" name), but I can wish.

* I realize that John Shea was only in one season of L&C, but that was more to do with Shea wanting to relocate back closer to his family rather than the producers intentionally wanting to write his character off.

Crazy list of 12 potentials...I think Kristen Stewart is out; http://justjaredjr.buzznet.com/2011/02/03/kristen-stewart-isnt-lois-lane-material/

If she was ever really in.

Out of the 12 from the first link...I always liked Parker Posey as Lois.
Why it will be her: It would correct a wrong of some five years or so, when Posey was cast as Lex Luthor's sidekick in Superman Returns, despite being a far better candidate for Lois than Kate Bosworth was. She's got the look, the strong, yet offbeat character, and the undoubted acting ability.

Why it won't be her: At 42, she's a decade older than some of the other actresses whose own age is said to be putting them out of contention. It's not going to happen. Besides, if even Brandon Routh couldn't get in Snyder's film, what chance do any of the other Returns cast have? This may have been a personal crusade of this writer's for years now, but it's probably time to give it up.

Yeah cinemablend posted an article last night tracking the rumored candidates. Kristen Stewart The fact that the article above claims she was never contacted about the role in the fist place makes me wonder where these websites are getting their information from. Kristen just started negotiations for "Snow White and the Huntsman".

Websites get information from somewhere? :p

In this day and age, it's about being first, not being right.

Allison Mack no doubt has a following and as an actress has many, if not all, Lois qualities that she has shown fit to exhibit as Chloe.

The obvious answer is she would never get a fair shake due to this film wanting nothing to do with Smallville.

I think Henry Cavill is an excellent choice to play Superman. Part of the reason the Kryptonians in the 1978 movie spoke with English accents was to create a mysterious, yet educated atmosphere and in those days there wasn't many English celebrities in Hollywood, particulary ones with formal accents

I'm unsure about who should play Lois, I agree that the character is a very important part of the Superman Universe and should be in the movie, however the character needs to be able to carry Margot Kidder's and Erica Durance's formula for the character, while being able to be Feminine and Attractive in an unconventional way

One thing I do think, Callum Blue should be cast as General Zod, if they decide to feature the character in the movie. So what if he played the character in Smallville? He did it brilliantly and completely nailed the standard set by Terrence Stamp, while bringing his own unique edge to the character

I think they would just be incline to stay away from anything that's related to the Donner movies, Superman Returns and Smallville. This is going to be it's own thing. The only thing that may or may not return is the theme song which will probably be covered by The Muse.
