I don't get what people see in her. I don't find her particularly gifted or particularly appealing.
Now, if we're looking for people in Syfy shows, maybe Erica Cerra could do it -- she's a good actress, she's got the strength and attitude, and she's drop-dead gorgeous. I think Lois should be cast for personality first, but being ultra-hot isn't a bad bonus.
How about Zooey deschanel or her sister on "Bones"
Yeah, if they were doing an older distinguished Superman, played by Jon Hamm, she would make a great Lois.
Stana Katic (if she wasn't already otherwise occupied with Castle) would make a great Lois. She's a few years older than Cavill, but she tends to be a bit of a chameleon and would easily make it work.
Missy Peregrym, Rachel Bilson, and Mila Kunis might be decent choices, too.
(Years ago I liked Rena Sofer for the role, but she's 42 now against Cavill's 27. That's not going to happen.)

It could happen if they wanted to emulate how different in age Reeve and Kidder looked.

I don't know who I want to play Lois. I just hope it's not that annoying girl from Up In The Air (starring George Clooney).
I'm gonna add Cassidy Freeman in there for Lois too. She's great as Tess Mercer on "Smallville" has become one of the most consistent actors considering the material they give her to work with and Tess has elements of Lois's character. It won't happen but I'd consider her.

Out of the suggested list my favorite would be Rachel McAdams. Keira Knightly...bleh. She was in the running for Selena Kyle as well. I think it was down to Anne Hathaway and Keira Knightly. Yeah definitely would be pleased if Rachael was chosen. She was great in "Sherlock Holmes".
