Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

I'd like to see Lohan in the movie - I'd like for her to get well and do better, honestly.

I'm betting that Supes' costume will be modernized in significant respects.

I'm pretty much expecting it. To be fair, Zack also mentioned John Bryne, and Curt Swan I believe. It's been a while since that interview now lol. I'd like to see Lindsay just be well. She's a decent actress but her personal life always seems like a mess and interferes and prevents her from having any kind of actual career.

Whatever they do, they've got to make the S bigger and use red instead of that maroon-like color.

^^ If by 'bigger' you mean 'bigger than in "Superman Returns"', I agree. But what Alex Ross has done with the size at some occasions is just plain ridiculous.

The SR suit was just fine.

What I find hilarious is that for Star Trek 2009 they borrowed the idea of having little logos all over the uniforms. Was the costume designer working for both SR and nuTrek?

Give Tom Welling a chance!!!!! A CGI superman for two hours and Welling only filmed from the neck up when in suit.
They could have done 15 Superman movies with Christopher Reeves that way.

Even after the accident.

Okay, that was tasteless.

Well, they actually have done it with people who were dead. And they did this comercial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFYSUPlZmcg

I just opened another thread about this topic.

The size of the House of El crest matters? Really? I had no problem with the symbol in "Superman Returns".

I remember that there was a huge fanboy issue with the shape, size, and color of the \S/ when pictures of Routh in costume were released.

I also remember a video when Singer was being interviewed and some fan complained to him about it. Singer retorted in a very dismissive manner (which, honestly, matched the fan's attitude) that the \S/ has constantly changed over the past 70 years.

Because of that, I am always willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I remember that video. It's funny...fans may have hated that suit, but DC later adapted it for Geoff Johns run on Action Comics. Adam Kubert designed an adaption complete with a bigger version of the Returns crest and added to the belt buckle. No one seemed to complain then, but then maybe that's because the bulk of Returns haters didn't read Superman comics. I dunno.
