I was mostly making a joke about Movie Luthor's obsession with land.

He actually became a somewhat sympathetic character, someone who could've done great good if he hadn't developed hatred and jealousy of Superman (or the belief that Superman's existence was a threat to humanity) and turned to crime ...

The hair, man! It was always about the hair.

And yet, in the movies, he was repeatedly portrayed as being ambitious about real estate more than anything else, including science and politics. I wonder where that idea came from.

Though in fact Lex's science angle was played up in the ill-received Superman IV.

I was actually going to use this as an example of how they should handle Luthor in the next movie.

^ Yeah the comics basically turned Sam Lane into Thunderbolt Ross didn't they? Taking Sam's dislike of Superman and turning it into full on hatred of aliens in general and making him a xenophobe, after he his heroic sacrifice in Our Worlds at War. Oh well.

Viggo Mortensen has dropped out of Snow White and The Huntsman (he would have played the Huntsman) which re-energizes speculation that he might veer towards Zack Snyder's Superman for the villainous role he was rumored for a few weeks ago.

The new Superman production is coming to Plano, Illinois! That's just west of Chicago, where they shot the first two Batman movies. Looks like I'll be able to stalk the new Superman film as well.
