Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

I still think they could have done the trunks and kept it subtle. To me, the suit looks bare without them.

I actually like the suit without the trunks but that doesn't look too bad.

Zack Snyder revealed to Empire Magazine that the running time of Man of Steel is around two hours and ten minutes. There won't be a longer director's cut on Blu-ray. Snyder also confirmed that the movie will have some references to the wider DC Universe.

Was hoping for something longer

That sounds like a decent running time to me. As much as I like Nolan, most of his movies are way too ridiculously long and drawn out for my taste.

I keep watching the Man of Steel trailer ovr and over, it really has me pumped and that soundtrack is outstanding. After Star Trek: Into Darkness, Man of Steel is my most anticipated movie of the entire year.

I'm the opposite -- Man of Steel, then Star Trek.

What's your third-most anticipated movie of the year? Grown Ups 2? :D

Iron Man 3 ;) (this saturday baby )

A "reference" in a Marvel film is Nick Fury being in Iron Man 2. A reference in a DC film is somebody saying Blüdhaven.

Agreed.

2hr10min sounds on the surface more than adequate time to tell the story that the trailers seem to indicate is coming.

Iron Man was about 2hr 5min, solid origin tale there for recent comparison sakes.

Walmart has a deal with Warner Bros to sell tickets to advance screenings of Man of Steel. The tickets will go on sale starting May 18 and the screenings will be on June 13, the day before the nationwide release. Each ticket will also include a code for a digital comic book written by David Goyer and a pre-order code for the film on Blu-ray or digital download.

Hmm, judging from the second track on there, it looks like there will indeed be some kind of flashback structure to the movie. We start with him all beardy and wandering the world, and then flash back to the origin story.

Thats possible but I would not use the soundtrack as proof. Soundtrack albums tracks are almost never ordered by their sequence in the actual films.

The script will most likely be structured similar to "Batman Begins" and yes, score albums are never in chronological sequence to the film so I wouldn't base anything off the score in terms of structure. The running time is right smack in the middle I think of "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight Rises" so I think it's a good length.

Snyder on Cavill as Superman:

There was a telling moment – we put him in the Christopher Reeve costume, because we didn’t have a suit yet, we just had the old spandex suit. He stepped out of the trailer and no one laughed.
