That is exactly what I was going to say. The words Superman Black Zero Escape sound like in the film its a place, location, or object and not a person at all.

Seeing how obscure/unlikely villains aren't totally out of the question, I was hoping to see Conduit as a Superman villain in one of these movies someday.

^Good luck on that. Of comic book villains, DC has a track record of using the same ones over and over again for the movies.

Black Zero is pretty obscure, but i could see him working with Zod as kind of a henchmen or something.

Was Zod from the comics? I thought he was actually based off of Jax-Ur's character and re-named.

General Zod first appeared in the comics in 1961. He was one of several villains from the Phantom Zone, including Jax-Ur.

So Greg...any idea if you're going to be writing the "Man of Steel" novel adaptation next summer? :)

I wouldn't mind if it the line was or was not in the new movie. If it was included in the new movie I would hope the line was delivered in a different style than the way Stamp delivered the line.

I am happy they won't use the line. It was a great line in Superman II. But its taken over the whole character to become a cliche. For Zod to work in this film Michael Shannon is going to have to be his own version. If Lex can be played in different ways so can Zod.

The problem is Terence Stamp defined a character who was just one name in a group of interchangeable criminals in Phantom Zone. Every time Zod has appeared since than, in comics or Smallville, has been dependent on the memory of how Terrence Stamp 's great performance made a stock villain very cool. Not really adding anything new. Using that line would get a fanboy cheer because.... Hey remember Superman II....

Maybe they'll turn the line on it's head. Superman is brought before Zod. Superman: I hope you don't expect me to kneel to you?

Well this is supposed to be a more gritty, real world Superman movie, so I can see how a line like that might not fit in as well.

Just like I doubt you'll hear any characters saying "Great Scott!" or "Golly, Mr Kent!" in this movie either.

Good. The less this new movie is like the stale and average old ones, the better.

Stale and Average are the very last terms I would find fitting for Superman and Superman Two.

Lest you forget, every superhero film since owes its very soul to those two films.
