Anyone know what purpose the foil on the steps serves? Light reflection?

^ That's a pretty good guess. Or something to do with a special effect to be added in post.

The Man of Steel production has officially left Chicago today. I'm super sad. :(

Either that plastic isn't going to be in the shot at all or this is a rehearsal - there are light stands right next to the doorway, and the only way they're not in shot is if it's a pretty tight closeup.

I think it is fairly obvious that Plastic Man is making a cameo in the film.

I would assume that you're joking, if I were capable of understanding that kind of thing.

Looks more like his cousin, Saran Wrap Man.

Heh, Yea, I was wondering why it referred to as foil, definitely looks much more like Saran Wrap.

I never joke. Everything I say is serious, because the Internet is serious business.

Clark's a germ freak. He lays down plastic wrap where ever he walks.

The plastic wrap is actually a very crucial part of the plot...it is the surprise villain...Lex Luthor's...latest scheme to ensnare his arch-nemesis!

Not sure if this is off topic or not, but do you hate Superman III? Did the fact that it was a comedy film ruin it?

^ How would you be unsure if it was off topic when this is clearly a thread about "Man of Steel"...but I guess we've gone off with worse tangents :)

I walked out of Superman III. I wasn't offended I was just bored out of my mind.

Years later when they first showed it on TV I thought I would give it another chance. I fell asleep right at the point I walked out on it!

I did eventually see all of it and I must say I don't care for it.
