Superman (casting, rumors, pix till release)

If any other Planet staff are added I think Jimmy Olsen will be played by someone unknown. Much like Sam Hungtington in "Superman Returns" I had no idea who he was before SR.

But she's, like, in her mid-30s! Who let her out of the retirement center?!?!?! And do they finish filming by 4? Because that's when dinner is, followed by the latest rerun of Matlock.

:shifty:

Very funny, She certainly doesn't look like she's in her mid 30s! I'm pushing 50 so to me she is young.

She's 36, but doesn't look like it at all! After she was announced, Adams as Lois was perfect casting (at least judging by the past few things I've seen her in).

IMHO Amy Adams will be the most attractive Lois yet!

She's not up against steep competition. Well, maybe Teri Hatcher.

I dunno. I think all the actresses who've played Lois have been very attractive. Margot Kidder might be the weakest link for me, but she wasn't ugly by any stretch of the means.

And, yes, I was parodying the few, much earlier, comments on how people were complaining that Adams was a hag. Yes, it didn't make sense then, and it still doesn't.

Those pictures just add to my negative feelings about this cursed movie.
In these pics I just don't see her as Lois Lane.

Regarding the spoiler...that has been heavily speculated and expected to some degree. The more interesting thing to me is the other character that is in that link.

Unsure if serious. Lana Lang is important to the psychological and sexual development of our young hero, and a fun psychotic in her own right according to the old Superman books I've read.

Anyway, someone told me this was Zod-driven? You'd have to do a radically different take for that not to seem stale.

^ You hit it on the head about Lana.

Just came across this...the article links comicbookmovies so take it for what it is worth for now:

I'm still going with the rebuttable presumption that Zod sucks, but the casting for this film's minor roles is fucking awesome.

Indeed, I'd go as far as to say that Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as the Kents is inspired.

Also looking forward to Jor-El's fightin' round the world.

Michael Shannon is an impressive casting choice for Zod. It is going to be interesting to see how they write him in this movie since the comics have retconned Zod into the Donner version during Geoff Johns Action Comics run.
