Superman and Lois TV in development

Well, I've wanted a new Superman series for some time, and it looks like there is one in development.

The good news is that this means they aren't going to kill this Superman, which I thought was a possibility. But given how the writers treated Superman so far, I'm only somewhat optimistic. I don't want this show to take such an iconic character and make it like Supergirl. I'd like to see better writers.

I want to like this idea so much, but I really hope they go the route of The Flash and pretty much keep politics out of it. Just make a good Superman show.

You might want to read some Superman comics. This is a character who has always fought against right-wingers. Hell, in the very early days he used to straight-up kill them.

This just seems a bit redundant...and too much DC TV...they need to rotate...2 per season (in a 3 season year)

The Superman sacrifice would be one of the few that would have huge impact.

If the show took place earlier and/or flashbacks...

I like the two actors in the roles of Superman and Lois. I'll watch. I've been wanting a new Superman show for a long while. However, I hope the writers really work on portraying the journalism aspect well, unlike on Supergirl where it's there but isn't. Of course, they could just hire me, a former newspaper reporter, as a consultant. #wishfulthinking

You might want to read some Superman comics. This is a character who has always fought against right-wingers. Hell, in the very early days he used to straight-up kill them.

This is simply not true. Certainly not the character in his prime. And absolutely not the modern version of the left and the right. The Supergirl writers are beyond extreme, and Superman who fought for Truth, Justice and the American Way was nothing like that.

When we first met Superman, he had proof an innocent man was about to be executed. If you think conservatives want to kill innocents, you should actually try talking to them. Christopher Reeve's iconic portrayal was not progressive. Neither was George Reeves or Dean Cain. Silver Age Superman--nope.

You can tell stories of truth and justice without getting political on either side. Smallville wasn't political either.

All I want is to keep the politics out of it, and just focus on Superman and his adventures, which necessarily involves Lois and Jon (his son). His story is so fascinating. I would hate to have CW do to him what they did to Supergirl, who is hard to even like today.

Different writers with a different agenda will do the trick. It can so good if done right.
