Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

So if there's even a possibility of a future crossover between Supergirl, Flash, and Arrow, doesn't that mean we will HAVE to hear some kind of reference or comment made on those shows about Supergirl and Superman fairly soon?

Because if there were really aliens existing on Earth with those kinds of godlike powers and abilities, I find it really hard to imagine a couple of giant nerds like Cisco and Felicity wouldn't be seriously geeking out and yammering on and on about it with anyone who would listen. :D

They've already reference Coast City and Ferris Airways.

That's leaping distance to Green Lantern and the Guardians of the Universe.

And opens up the Galaxy.

I'd be surprised if it ever goes any further than these kind of references. A cameo from Carol herself or a pre-Lantern Jordan/Stewart is the most we're ever likely to get on that front.
I mean the Atom suit appears to be about the limit of what their TV scale VFX budget can handle, and though it's not terrible, it's still a bit ropey. But Green Lantern? Not a chance. They'd either have to scale the ring's abilities *way* the hell back or risk it looking absolutely bloody awful.

Now, Billy Batson on the other hand.... ;)

Oh, brother.

What about the Manhunters during the Millennium?

(Kate Spencer and Mark Shaw, both are humans who have taken on the identity of Manhunter using found Manhunter technology, who have been on Arrow.)

If there are Manhunter sleeper Agents following Earth's superheroes/Metahumans around posing as their best friends and relatives, that's going to smack of Fortress vs the 6 million dollar man... Hey? Who followed Oliver back in 1987? I'm not certain his ongoing title was up and running yet during Millennium?)

So, that's how we get rid of Laurel, she's an alien robot.

Or, that's how we get Sarah back, she's an alien robot.

But I was thinking that if there was a list of duplicates/dupes used by the manhunters, we could cross reference that against the Arrow/Flash wiki and if there is an overlap, well, that's proof positive of aliens right?

I mean, has (the android) Nancy Reagan been on Flash yet?

The Flash's powers in the comics include the ability to cross between parallel universes. And the premise of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, the cumbersomely titled new spinoff, revolves around time traveler Rip Hunter, who might also have the power to cross timelines. So Supergirl wouldn't necessarily have to live in the CW-verse for a crossover to be possible.

But CBS seems to prefer avoiding a crossover for now, from what we've heard.

Nina Tassler's comments at the TCAs weren't much different, substantively, from what Greg Berlanti himself had said a day earlier, so I've never for once believed that they meant what they've been taken to mean... especially not after The Hollywood Reporter and now Entertainment Weekly have both off-handedly mentioned that they've had it confirmed that the possibility of crossover is very much there.

What I firmly believe we'll see is 'Easter Egg' connections drawn between the shows to set up that they're all in the same universe, with a decision on whether to do full crossover(s) and when being made as things progress.

I'd rather not have them be in the same universe. The general public in The Flash seems very unaccustomed to the idea that superpowers are a thing that can exist. It would be too problematical from a continuity standpoint to reveal that Superman's been around all along.

There will definitely have to be some retroactive explanations put in place in order to make it work, but I think it's doable.

It's a muffin... it's a Twinkie... It's

SUPERCAKE!

Confirmed power: Can turn her S shield into delicious cake. Beats her cousin's giant S-shaped plastic wrap by a Kryptonian mile.

Looking at the texture of this suit makes me wish they had gone this route with the Man of Steel costume.

Byrne had Clark pretending to be wind for most of his 20s, averting disasters at superspeed.

IIRC, at least one of DC's many, many alternate timelines has the Flash doing the same thing: constantly patrolling the city at ultra-superspeed, his entire existence a blur. I can't remember which timeline this was, possibly Kingdom Come.

This would be the one problem with Supergirl being part of the Arrowverse. They could always just have them having operated in secret until the start of the show. We also had the metahuman bad guys who wasn't in the Central City explosion, so it looks like they might be open to giving us superpowered characters with different origins.

As for Superman being on the show, I'm wondering if perhaps the show will start with Kal and Kara together and she eventually decides she can handle things on her own and leaves for the show's main setting. So that way we can have her able to handle things by herself, but still have it open to an appearance by Superman if she finds herself in over her head.

Which I figure was probably a setup for Legends of Tomorrow.

I don't get the impression that's the case. According to the reports, Superman has at most a cameo in the pilot, and there's no casting information about the role. There was a casting call a few months ago for a "body double" for a character who was probably Superman, suggesting that he'll be seen but not heard, and maybe not seen that clearly (since they'd probably cast a different actor if a full performance were needed later).

@JD: Like I mentioned earlier, Clark and Kara are living separate lives. He's in Metropolis, and she's in National City.

We do know that they're aware of and have met each other in the past, though.

Clearly Supergirl takes place in an alternate universe from the CW shows...I'm pretty sure that neither Barry Allen nor Oliver Queen would refer to a thin, flat, hardened pastry as a "cake".

Man does this look good! I am so excited that DC continues to dominate TV.
