Supergirl TV Series is being work on.

Imagine if she tried to insure herself?

Uh, why would she do that?

Despite being super-powered, I'm sure she will receive many beatings and injuries from enemies anyway. It's part of the Supergirl character. Even the Cassandra Cain version of Batgirl, who was still a human, defeated and injured her. In the 84 film, Supergirl was battered about quite a bit.

Oh, and she did injure herself when she tried (and failed) to fly and crush a rock a rock in The Phantom Zone. Falling into a tar pit didn't help, fortunately her old mentor picked her up out of the pit and carried her to safety.

If the maid of steel (wow. That is soooooooooooooo sexist.) throws a car at a supervillain, Supergirl should consider paying for the car she just skimmed across half a kilometre of asphalt to it's owner.

Recently 600 issues later, the Thing was tried, and found guilty for ripping a door off a taxi cab and leaving the crime scene in Fantastic Four #1 (1962.). The author was taking the piss, but I think it was a class action against the Thing for never having any consideration for the lives he ruined by creating millions of dollars in property damage across New York City each month. Ben got sent to super villain prison and beat up in the yard ever day. It was all very sad.

Is it wrong for me to say i just dont find the woman playing Supergirl attractive? Plus shouldnt they call her Superwoman? Prefer the Smallville Supergirl anyway.

Nobody's required to find a given person attractive, so I wouldn't say it's wrong exactly (I don't find her particularly atttractive either, at least not based on still photos), but it shouldn't be relevant either. They're not casting a model. Her job isn't to be pretty, it's to be a superhero.

Plus shouldnt they call her Superwoman?

Theoretically, but that's a different character. Several, in fact.

Does it say anywhere, that Supergirl has to look like a Supermodel?
I like that she is a next door woman and she is not unattractive at all to me. :)

It's funny, I showed the pictures to my wife and the first thing she said was "She's so plain looking". She went on to say that she thought she was pretty but for Supergirl she expected something more special in the way she looks.

I'm glad they didn't cast a Malibu Barbie. Melissa Benoist is pretty, in a girl next door way. That's a good thing.

I think she has a perfect look for Supergirl myself. I've never really needed the character to be super hot or super cute, and have always thought the more wholesome, classic, girl next door look suits her much better.

That's exactly what I was thinking. In the same way that Grant Gustin is a good looking guy but not an impossibly good looking Ken Doll. She was also very appealing and amiable in Whiplash.

Add me to the votes of approval for the costume by the way.

I find this discussion of her looks interesting. It reminds me of how some expect Lois Lane has to look like the "perfect woman" to be properly cast. Which has nothing really to do with the character's history and people projecting their own expectations.

Melissa Benoist looks great to me. She is my type exactly. She looks attractive without makeup. Which I think is what people are really noticing. They are not dolling her up. Which I love.

Apparently there are some pictures of her online..... Her phone was hacked with all those other celebrities. I am glad that did not prevent her from getting this part. It was certainly not her fault.

I want to go back and check the Arrow and Flash threads to see if this many posts were spent analyzing the physiques of the leads in those series.
