Although my Silver Age brain is struggling to cope with the idea of Supergirl marrying Mon-El.
She's supposed to be with Brainy, darn it.

You have it easy compared to Doctor Who fans coping with the Tenth Doctor marrying his "daughter." (Who's the real-life daughter of the Fifth Doctor's portrayer....)
Although my Silver Age brain is struggling to cope with the idea of Supergirl marrying Mon-El.
She's supposed to be with Brainy, darn it.
While under a yellow sun, the number of people, Kara can safely have intercourse with, without murdering them, is short.
It would be unpragmatic not to see if there was potential between the two of them, considering either of them might live for another thousand years without finding a viable sexual partner.
Insensitive bulletproof Clark fakes it with puny human Lois, every dang time.
Or Dax marrying Spock's son?

Season 4 / episode 12 - "Menagerie"
SG/Kara: Supergirl and J'onn are an awkward combination; the series has hammered the whole sisterhood relationship/partnership so much, that Supergirl only fits when partnered with Alex. Superheroes are often able to find their way in new crimefighting arrangements, but that's not happening here simply because SG was not allowed to really work with anyone else in any significant way, including James or Mon-El.
Lockwood / Children of Liberty: If the president continues to plot against Lockwood, I imagine a third party stepping in to help his organization...
Some will resent the way he's encouraging his son to act as the temp leader, but it would add a major turn for Lockwood if something unfortunate happens...its just that the turn could go in any direction.
Pamela Ferrer / Menagerie: So, she's getting mail from Manchester Black, and will team up with him in the next episode. No surprise that one murderer would team up with another.
James / Lena / Haley: "we never know what tomorrow will bring" This is the most telegraphing relationship around....
Haley offering what is essentially a "super soldier" development job to Lena...I so expected this to unfold, (and Alex's "powerless" speech in the previous episode predicted this), but there has to be a twist in this somewhere--such as Lena agreeing, but possibly placing a mental measure of control in the minds of anyone altered by the experiment (in the way Palpatine had Order 66 commands programmed into the Clonetroopers) so she have them disobey certain government commands / follow hers, etc.
Regarding James' reaction...he was right, and now that the relationship is over, I expect him to get into trouble by having his reporters restart the investigation into L-Corp's "Black Budgeted" funding/use, and with his knowing more than he should, possibly investigate (down the road) as Guardian, only to end up facing off with enhanced soldiers that he cannot handle. Perhaps Lena will be the one to direct her experiments to capture or harm James.
With no relationship, I think he no longer has plot protection to keep the character on the show.
Nia / Brainy: Nia really needs a new mask. Something playing into the mysterious nature of her powers. The puffy/bright mask she's sporting leans too much in the cosplay direction.
Poor Brainy. He's about smooth as C-3PO. He should simply study romantic idea/culture/history to create some kind of feeling for himself.
NOTES: Hole in the chest. Very nasty effect.

Not a bad episode overall, but the Lena/James breakup scene was clumsily written and abrupt. Lena mentions she's been asked to share her superpowers research with the government, and James reacts as if she's said yes to that even though she never specifies. It's like they cut out the lines where she said she was going to do it. And it seemed like they rushed through several stages of their debate over it in just a couple of minutes.
Also, when we first saw Lena, she seemed to be reading some news that frightened her and was suddenly desperate to get out of town, but that was never followed up on.
(But one thing I did like about the limo scene is that the rear projection showed the car actually starting and stopping as though moving through normal traffic. On The Gifted, they always have the scenery in car scenes going by at a uniform high speed even when they're driving through the city, which undermines the illusion, especially when the actor pretending to drive is spending more time looking at the person they're talking to than watching the road.)
Dreamer's costume is pretty cool.

I'm glad SG told Nia that Alex has been mindwiped so she's less likely to spill the beans re SG's identity.
Gosh, I miss Alex and Kara/SG and hope that situation is cleared up before the next season starts.
I really miss Lena and Kara, but doubt that situation will clear up any time soon. In Lena's logic, if vigilante James thought working for the govt was a bad idea then goody 2 shoes Kara Danvers would likely agree with him.
As for why Lena was hot to leave town... I suspect her spies told her big brother was coming to town, heck that may be why she got into bed with the govt in the first place. Who knows, maybe the inability to come clean with Kara will force her to confide in SG?

Yes, that's easy enough to extrapolate, but I'm talking from a story-structure perspective. It's awkward to set up a tease like that and fail to pay it off in some way by the end of the episode. It felt like they just forgot about it midway through. It's another thing that makes it feel like parts of Lena's subplot were sloppily edited out this week.
When Alex bumped into Becca, I started to thinking about the folks who may heard heard stories about Alex and Kara working together, or have seen them. Eventually, Alex might bump into someone who remembers Alex and Kara in a situation she doesn't remember at all...
Yet another reason why the memory-wipe plot was poor from the start, as Alex's life--including that with her working relationships--have never been hidden away from the public. This series has Alex as visible as any local police officer, so her association would be known from first hand accounts, news coverage, etc., and that can get back to her (in the form of a friend or anyone else), at any time, and what happens when she cannot remember key events she was a part of?
I was wondering if TPTB might have tossed us a curve ball last night. Maybe Lena wasn't calling the Colonel to accept the govt contract. Maybe she was calling Lex to accept what-ever nefarious scheme he's hatching with potential plans to betray him at the last moment like she did her mom in season 2.
ETA: When I rewatched the ep tonight I chuckled in the final Kara/Alex scene when Alex came in and Kara quickly donned her eyeglasses so her big sister wouldn't recognize her as SG.
I'm loving the Nia/Brainy story arc that's going on. I can see why she likes him, in his own weird way he's oddly charming.
I could see that with a MALE Kryptonian, but a female? If she is careful, there are no involuntary explosions that could be well, dangerous.
Explosions, no; contractions, yes. So would you like peanut butter with that jelly?
If you're gonna argue about the female orgasm, it would help if you'd actually, y'know, seen one...
This ain't Smallville. Anyway, I doubt Kara needs her body mansplained to her.
