Supergirl - Season Four

I'm suddenly wondering about the age difference between the Supergirls and the Luthors.

Lena looks at Kara like a friend, but Lex looks at Komrad Kara like a daughter, but the Luthors are almost the same age.

Is Lena almost 50, hanging out with children who are almost 30, because she is too young at heart for her actual contemporaries, like Lois and Cat Grant?

If Otis is kept around for eyecandy, does that make Lex gay?

Despite real life preventing me from returning to the season when it resumed broadcasting back in January, I'm very much looking forward to its likely arrival on Netflix in early June, and am greatly intrigued by the spoilers and recaps that I've been reading and will continue to read as the season concludes over the next month or two, all of which continue to convince me that the series continues to maintain the high level of quality that has up to this point made it my favorite comics-based series ever.

Lena has been confirmed to be in her early 30s, so, as was the case with Cat, Lex is clearly not meant to be as old as the actor portraying him because there is at most a 6-year age difference between him and Lena based on the flashbacks we have previously seen (he appeared to be around 10 when she formally joined the family at age 4).

Komrad Kara is "almost" new born, so her physical age is superficial.

My Bad.

That....was awful set up of what was supposed to be what's left of a missile strike....

Well it wasn't as it was obviously faked. It's a good thing Comrade Girl isn't very familiar with the aftermath of the weapons on nuklear wessels.

It wasn't meant to be a nuclear missile, just a conventional one. But yeah, it probably would've left more of a crater than that.

And yes, when Red Daughter put on a brunette wig and called herself Linda Lee, I murmured, "They finally found a way to work that in." Man, Benoist looks totally different that way.

Now THIS is why I watch Supergirl. Take out the politics and focus on her being a part of the Superman family, bring in one of Superman's greatest villains and see how she handles it, and you have an amazing story. For me this was easily the best episode of the season, if not the series.

^ Well, it would be hard to argue against the idea that this is the best season of Supergirl by far. The rest were so hit and largely miss affairs, that this is almost a rebooted series, as the tone Is so different, and its scripts demand so much more from some of the leads.

I would love to see Lex somehow end up as President at the end of this season, and instead of constantly throwing their politics at us, the writers can just have Lex be Lex.

Kudos to Jon Cryer. He is doing a great job as Lex. This version of Lex is arguably one of the best versions of the character. He's highly intelligent, manipulative, calculating, and dangerous. He's a great villain. I only wish we had gotten some flashbacks of him and Superman to see their interactions.

That would have been a great addition to the character building in this episode. We know he once tortured James (and as noted yesterday, I would like to know more about the "why" of that), but we don't know much about his days as a villain, save for the red sun incident.

I have to say, I'm surprised at how much I'm digging this depiction of Lex. I mean he's no Gene Hackman or Clancy Brown, but he's far and away the most interesting villain this show has had in a while in terms of screen presence.

I chuckled.
OK, now I feel weird for only chuckling at the 'Thus Spoke Zarathustra' bit.
Lex killing the entire court room was amazing.
I love how they didn't even bother to show or explain how he did it, because: Lex Luthor. Similarly I like how it's never addressed how he knows Kara's secret identity because again: 9th level intellect. (I mean he probably figured out Clark's a long time ago too, so it's not even much of a leap just from simple deduction.)

Wow this season is amazing and the writing is excellent*!
Some really intelligent and talented writers** in the Supergirl team.
The show has been very political but not black or white / one sided.
Definitely the best written season of Arrowverse to date.

*with the execption of Alex not recognizing her own sister as SG, I mean common she had her memory wiped not her vision or her IQ
**can SG lends its writers to Discovery? just saying.. :D

I did like how Lex walked in Kara's apartment and looked around so casually.
