Spoilers Supergirl - Season 3

Presumably Reign's the Evil Baby being launched from Krypton at the end of Season Two. Don't they even namecheck her?

They say "It will reign".

She probably didn't understand grammar that well being an infant and though it was her name. :D

What's good about this is that Reign is a bona fide Supergirl villain, not a Superman villain retooled.

Most of Supergirl's villains are ones she shares with Superman (or other heroes), but I do agree that it's nice to see them use a character like Reign, especially in a Series Regular role.

Will she look alien all the time, or are they just gonna make her human looking for budget's sake?

Logically Reign was invented after 5 volumes of Supergirl, or 60 years, because Supergirl didn't have her own Joker.

Reign has only been in 5 issues of the regular title of Supergirl.

Moooooooooooving along.

Odette is fucking Amazing.

There has to be someone better than female Doomsday.

60 years to invent a Supergirl key villain and it's the guy who killed Superman, in drag.

Unless some one wants to sell me on Reign being the coolest?

Is this a psychological trick to manipulate Supergirl fans/viewers to start watching Reign, by saying Reign 40 times during the course of every Supergirl episode?

The tag scene showed her being sent to Earth at the same time Kal-El and Kara were. It follows, then, that she probably grew up on Earth in a human identity just as Clark did.

Could also be that if she looked different her experience was much different than Kal's and she was shunned and isolated from humanity for the most part.

Maybe -- but could they get a season-long arc out of that? Well, I guess The Flash and Arrow have managed with villains whose faces were unseen for most of the season, but I feel that Supergirl would take a different approach, one where there was more personal interaction. It seems to me that the reason for having her on Earth as long as Superman is to let her pass as human for a while, to let Kara interact with her for a while before discovering who and what she is. Of course, the fact that they've already announced that Annable is playing Reign, instead of just "a new character," suggests that her identity will be revealed to the audience up front, at least.

Then there's the shallower consideration: Would they have cast an actress as hot as Annable if they planned to make her up to look monstrous all the time? Although I guess they could be going for a "sexy alien" look like Lyra's -- or maybe they just cast her for her talent and personality and her looks are incidental, but how likely is that in the TV/film industry?

Do we know it will be a season-long arc? They didn't have one this season and Cadmus is still out there, I'm sure a decent chunk of episodes will deal with them.

There's all kinds of aliens in National City now living out in the open, I don't think her look would prevent Kara from interacting with her, she doesn't have to immediately be revealed to Kara(and us) as a Worldkiller(if this version even is a Worldkiller, that is).

I wouldn't mind if she looks human, I just feel that after Kryptonians and Daxamites it's time for a bit more alien looking alien as a big bad.

I was wondering why they were talking about the weather.

It was raining explosions around them, they could have meant that ;)

Do we know this for a fact, or is this just speculation? Maybe on Earth 38, Oliver is still on the island and Barry hasn't been hit by lightning yet. All we really know that I remember is that Barry googled Caitlin and Cisco and they weren't there.

In the first crossover episode Barry tried finding his friends online and couldn't.

So their isn't any solid physical proof that they didn't exist. Either they don't have any online presence, or they have different names.

Edit: Oh you said that whoops.

Maybe they can cast Adelaide Kane as Reign. :rommie:

I see what you did there... but they already cast Odette Annable.

And to me, Kane will always be Tenaya-7 from Power Rangers RPM. Between her, Rose McIver, and Eka Darville, it's surprising how many of that season's cast members went on to do CW shows.

I missed the casting but yeah I was just being silly. We both liked her from PR RPM. I liked that show more than the other PR shows.
