Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

Interesting. I've never heard of them before.
I have though it's interesting I never read a major storyline they are in.
I first started reading comics around 1990. A lot of my knowledge of the overall DC Universe first came from the latest version of their encyclopedic "Who's Who" which was coming out at the time. The Dominators and references to them were numerous in that. Given that the INVASION crossover was only a few years old. It's nice that these producers are looking beyond the last 10 - 15 years for ideas.

The invasion was a pact between The Khunds, Dominators and Daxamites (at the time the Daxamites didn't know they gained Kryptonian levels of power under a yellow sun)to take over Earth for fear that the human metagene would lead to a race that would take over the galaxy. This generally led them to trying to capture anyone on earth that exhibited abilities. The Dominators also captured test subjects to determine the percentage of Earth's population that would develop powers when exposed to harm. (13 percent!?!?!).

The turning point in the invasion came when the daxamites realized they were getting stronger and (with some convincing) changed sides. You haven't seen fear until you've seen a fleet full of people leave their ships while in space to tear the opposing fleet apart by hand.

It was pretty epic.

Can I break the first rule of Fight Club and talk about Fight Club? This is awesome!

That was a lot of fun, I hope we get a second part with the actual fight.
The reveal of the Dominators makes me wonder if the Earth-1 heroes decide they need an alien to fight aliens and bring Supergirl over from her world to help them out.

The full video is on the CW App already.

It's fun but not as good as last year. This time it's more of the heroes standing and fighting the computer attacks. Last year it was real one on fighting.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but we have a synopsis for Episode 2, "The Last Children of Krypton".
http://www.kryptonsite.com/supergirl-2-2-spoilers-the-last-children-of-krypton-description/

"IAN GOMEZ STARS AS SNAPPER CARR — CADMUS attacks National City with a kryptonite powered villain who ends up seriously hurting Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) blames Hank (David Harewood) because the kryptonite was stolen from the DEO. Meanwhile, Kara’s first day at her new job doesn’t go as planned after she meets her new boss, Snapper Carr (guest star Ian Gomez). Glen Winter directed the episode written by Robert Rovner & Caitlin Parrish (SG202). Original airdate 10/17/2016."

Kryptonite powered villain? Sounds like a job for… Metallo!

^ That's exactly who they're referring to, and we know this because of the synopsis for The Adventures of Supergirl and the character casting description for Metallo that was released a bit ago where it talks about the character being empowered by a shadowy organization after he's injured by Superman and Supergirl.

More to the point, if the Dominators are gonna be the villains in the crossover, will Snapper Carr get his teleportation powers?

And Tom Welling to confront.

Huh? Why him? Metallo did appear in Smallville, but he was also in Superboy and Lois & Clark, as well as Superman: TAS, The Batman, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and various animated movies.

Oh, or is that a reference to all the Smallville "meteor freaks" that were mutated by kryptonite? That's not really the same thing as being literally powered by kryptonite, i.e. using it as an energy source.

Lynda Carter Used Hillary Clinton As Inspiration For Her Upcoming Role on Supergirl
In an interview with Variety, she commended Clinton’s performance at the first Presidential debate, and connected it to her Supergirl role as the female President of the United States. “I used Hillary to prepare,” she said. “I saw the way she can be warm and funny and inviting and serious.”

But what Carter thinks makes Clinton a role model isn’t that she’s perfect, but how she handles her flaws. She says, “Hillary is much more human than Wonder Woman. She has flaws, but we are all flawed and we learn from our mistakes. I think she is a role model in the way she has paved the way for women.”

Doesn't surprise me, given that the Clinton campaign and this show's version of the House of El have the same motto, "Stronger Together." (The show used it first, so I often wonder if Clinton is a Supergirl fan. Her campaign has also made heavy use of the "Fight Song" tune that was used in early Supergirl promos.)

Besides, politics aside, who else would an actress playing a female US president have to draw on as a role model? There aren't really a lot of options... yet.

Really? You've neeeeveeeer mentioned this fact before.

I am pretty sure it is NOT Clinton who chose this, but some staff member (and waaaaaay later into the campaign. This didn't show up until Bernie Sanders ran the last primary, right?) ...and with the incompetence of the many of the people Clinton has selected to guide her on things..this was a rare moment of a good idea actually being used.

Also, I would rather she model after Michelle Obama...who has a warmer personality, more like Lynda Carter.

Well, to be fair to Christopher, there's a fresh reason to bring it up. And honestly, whenever I see that slogan with the campaign, the thought that "She stole Supergirl's slogan" keeps running in my head

The latter. I'm sure there were at least a few freaks whose powers came directly from the stuff but even if not it was close enough to me to make a silly comment.
