Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

Mon-El's story would be a great addition, and he could even return in future seasons for guest appearances. It would also open the possibility to a Legion series down the road a bit.

It would actually be nice if Mon-El had already been on earth at one point and his original comic book story has already happened. Perhaps he was sent away in suspended animation as a means to slow the lead poisoning and he is already a friend of Superman's?

The more (original) world they create for Supergirl, the more it looks like Kal El sat on his ass, doing sweet bugger all for the last 20 years.

If they did use Mon-El, I'd really prefer if they skipped the whole "lead is poisonous to Daxamites" thing. After all, lead is already pretty damn poisonous to humans, so it's a pretty stupid plot device -- and it'd be pretty tasteless in the wake of the horrible lead poisoning that happened in Flint, Michigan not so long ago.

(Flints problem is lead, but it's larger problem is corporate greed. America held on to lead when the rest of the world finally after a protracted argument, admitted it was bad in the 1970s and started fixing the problem. Lead was a billion dollar industry in the US back then, and those billionaires had no interest in diversifying or selling out, and risking their financial security, just because a few poor people were dead. Ditto with Cigarettes.)

Maybe the update is that lead levels have reduced so much since the 1960s - 1980s that Earth is no longer so completely toxic to Daxamites?

You could even allude to a Daxamite star chamber conspiracy for the last 50 years to fight/reduce lead, till the levels have reduced to the point where they are physically comfortable enough to invade... Similar to that outer Limits plot were the aliens are getting us to raise our own CO2 levels until Earth is ready for colonization.

Missed that one.

Must have been awful, since I was getting between ten and twenty video tapes a week from the video store in the 90s (The tapes were only a dollar each if you rented in bulk. $7 for one new tape, for one night, or $10 for 10 old tapes, for a week. It was cheaper to be (video) junkie.)

Doctored automobile exhaust was also our first look at Sontarian Sexuality.

Needs red trunks.

Seriously, I suppose it's not bad; the cape fasteners are certainly interesting. It's too much in the modern armor-ish vein that makes little sense for an invulnerable guy, but as I'd said before, it's appropriate that it not look too much like Supergirl's costume, since they designed them independently.

As for how Hoechlin himself looks in the role, hmm, I suppose he reminds me a bit of Kirk Alyn, with a bit more edge. And a bit more stubble, it seems.

I like it. It's pretty similar to the New 52 and DCEU costumes, which is pretty much what I expected.

Superman looks a bit pale in the photo with a five o'clock shadow, as if he is a bit ill but has stilled pulled himself together enough to go to work.

Superman does not look muscular enough in that pic but the actor playing him looks buff enough. Weird.

People today have been brainwashed by the media into believing that you have to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger to be "muscular enough." Real strength can be lean. And why would Superman need to be overmuscled to be superstrong? He could be built like Homer Simpson and still be strong enough to defeat any Earthly threat. Indeed, how would he even manage to work out short of lifting giant boulders or something? (Cf. The Incredibles, but I assume Superman's strength is an order of magnitude or two above Mr. Incredible's.)

How can you be disappointed, same color blue and red as Supergirl. Must have used the same tailor or must be Krypton taste.
