How do you rate Supergirl 2026?

The movie is a massive bomb, badly written and directed and Gunn publicly declared it was the best script they had. What an embarrassment and I no longer think Gunn i9s the right man for the job.

Bit early to tell yet People liked his Superman movie last year so it could do well.

I accidentally checked a manopshere rant about the failure of Supergirl, critically denoting the dripping sludge of woke virtue signalling, and this is the point that was stressed a dozen times "sex sells to the real (male) audience that stays home for this weak nonesense".

It almost seemed plausible, until I saw the date on which the video was posted, which was a week before the movie was out, and it was highly unlikely that this fourth tier Muppet had seen an advance screening.

What an asshole. :(

It's astonishing. She spends the entire movie claiming revenge is wrong and then straight up murders a totally defenceless man for hurting her CGI dog.
You're obviously not a pet owner. You mess with my dogs and I will go fucking John Wick on your ass.
I'm going to be waiting to see it on Sunday, I was hoping to see it today, but all of the matinee shows are way in the back on one of the teeny tiny screens, that are barely bigger than a TV. But there is an early Sunday showing on one of the biggest regular screens, so if it isn't too buys we'll be seeing it then.

Considering Supergirl will return in the currently filming Man of Tomorrow it almost does not matter how much money this makes.
Here is an expanded version of that I just posted on Facebook -

Not to sound glib or dismissive of the box office - whatever it turns out to be Supergirl will return in “Man of Tomorrow” regardless. Which normally can not be said in these situations. We will see Mily Alcock as Supergirl again and soon! So maybe it’s not as important as many analysts are going to tell us. Just something to consider.

The vinyl of the musical score is up for pre order. The new cover art surprised me. We get a full view of the ship that brought her from Krypto. I do not remember seeing the full exterior. Just the sphere she came out of. This shows full 1978 crystal starship for the rest of it! Did I miss something? Maybe those burned up when entering Earths atmosphere. Or artist license? They did seem to be very limited on what we saw of Krypton and their technology. Only showed what was needed to leave things open for the future.

I'm just amazed that Helen Slater did not play her mum.

Most of the reviewers that I trust who have seen it are all pretty much saying the same thing -- good movie but not great but certainly not terrible.

Seems to me that the DCU is off to the same start that the MCU had -- first movie was a solid hit and the second one, while not up to the standards the first one, is entertaining enough to be worth seeing.

And I love the people calling for James Gunn's job. That was certainly predictable.

A+.

It dragged a bit in places, and coincidence played a greater role than I like.

Alcock is phenomenally good, and doubtless we'll see a lot more of Kara in the movies.

The Argo sequence was kind of amazing. It's by far my favorite visualization of Krypton and its end because of the tone and the choices - visual design, performances and mood went in a different direction than the usual skiffy movie cliches.

And also removed all doubt as to whether Luthor doctored that message (as if there were any).

Kind of sweet that Kara gets the Kryptonian parental instructions - do good, protect people - that Clark gets in most versions.

Oh, and this flick shows more directorial skill, toughness and balls than anything Snyder ever did.

Isn't it too early to tell?

Box office Mojo says that it's earliest release date is 26th of June.

What's the date where you are bud?
It was out here in UK on 25th and lots of international markets - i saw it then. It's bombed in all international markets, we already have that data. The current box office debate is if it can reach Morbius.
