Sunchip bags - now biodegradable.

So... Am I the only one missing the boat here? I just saw an ad that claimed that Sunchips' new bags will be completely biodegradable, starting on "Earth Day"..

Now, I'm not a bit proponant of the theory of global warming and all that crap, but I realise the vital importance of not creating more waste than necessary and I think this is a VERY cool idea.. I can only hope that the leading chip makers, Doritos, Lays, etc.. will follow suit and do the same thing.

If I still ate chips, I'd be switching to Sunchips exclusively! :techman:

I just woke up, and my brain interpreted biodegradable as "boobgraze". Oh, brain!

I've heard of researchers finding decades old newspapers in landfills that were still readable. If conditions in landfills make that possible I'm skeptical about anything that would make a suitable food container decomposing any faster.

I'm not sure if this is a radical change from the current "biodegradable" bags they are using now, but if it isn't, I have one thing to say about them: Those bags are loud! It's hard to describe, but when you touch a normal bag of chips, you get a crinkling noise. Fine and dandy. With the bags they are currently using (which are totally different from "normal" chip bags"), any sound the bag makes seems amplified. Like, they must be made of a less flexible material, that echoes more so internally than other bags do, because the noise difference is truly noticeable. Anyone else observe this, or am I just totally off my rocker?

That said, it is cool that they're going 100% biodegradable...just hope they don't raise the price...and that they reduce the noise.
