Summer 2010 Anime

The action half is pretty great, and yeah the show showcases it, but it seems kind of purposeless (but still neat) when you actually watch it....well at least until the end.

A bit of thread bump because I'm not sure if it's really thread worthy, but Madhouse director Satoshi Kon passed away today presumably due to complications from cancer. RIP. :(

I'm sad to see such a talented guy go before his time. Personally, I loved Paprika, and Perfect Blue. Paranoia Agent was also good. He was one of the only directors who would make the really good brain bending mind-frelling stuff, which tend to enjoy in anime. It's sad we've lost his talent.

I recently finished a series called Bokura ga Ita. Like a lot of shoujo series it makes me want to give the majority of the cast a boot to the head. Still it was pretty good despite ending at a strange place. After messing around in a bookstore I figured out where the anime left off in the manga....and then kinda wish I hadn't done that. :(

I slso finished Senko no Night Raid finally which was frankly underwhelming.

I just watched Paprika again but with the Cantonese dub. Interesting experience.

Bokura ga Ita sounds like perfect shoujo melodrama though. :lol

It was pretty good but it's really open ended. The manga on the other hand went further than what's been animated and some things didn't turn out the way I wanted. The manga is actually licensed under the translated title We Were There so I might have to read it at some point to see what happens.
