Sulu (SPOILERS)

There's an article at Trekweb, where Jon Cho reveals that Sulu is placed in his position on the Enterprise by accident and is not even supposed to be on th ship.

It's very familiar to the "First Adventure" where Sulu was supposed to be assigned to Captain Hunter's squadron but was sent to Enterprise instead.

Interesting, I knew the writers had used the novels for influence, didn't think we would see this.

I remember that book. Sulu is like "this big mother is going to handle like shit." Then the ship responds way more than he thought she would and he almost crashes on the way out of spacedock. Or something, it's been a while since I read that book.

Anyway, yeah, the writers have gone on record saying that they took stuff from some of the novels.
