Its definitely the first DCEU film to deserve to make money, so I'm glad its a success even though I like it as an action film, not as a comic adaptation (which it pretty much failed at spectacularly, but it was entertaining if you just pretend its an original IP, which it pretty much is).

I think the fact that a movie starring a bunch of characters that 95% of the audience had never heard of did that much money is absolutely astounding, regardless of what anyone thinks of the quality of the movie. (I liked it)

SS has surpassed MOS domestically
MOS: $291 million
SS: $307 million

And SS has surpassed X-Men Apocalypse internationally.

SS: $392 million
X-Men A: $388 million

X-Men A which netted $120 million from China alone.

$700+ million without a Chinese release is impressive.

The movie turned out to have stronger legs than Civil War, which is also impressive.

The media's stubbornness in not acknowledging its success is also very impressive.

I do hope this turns into a Harley & Ivy (& Batgirl) movie. That could be really fun.
Yup. I didn't get a chance to watch many episodes of the animated Batman series of the 90's, but even I remember that one. Good fun all around.

The big rumor right now seems to be that it will involve Batgirl and the Birds of Prey. Although I would think with Harley being one of the Gotham City Sirens that would make a lot more sense.

I know some fans are vocal about WANTING Birds of Prey, but I think the Joker/Harley idea is more likely.
I mean, why not just make a movie of Mad Love?

If they do have the Joker I hope we don't get more Jared Leto drama. Just play the part, dude, it's OK if you don't become it.
Yes. I'm getting so very tired of all this celebrity drama garbage so very prominent in Hollywood and beyond. I miss humble actors who know their playing a part and getting paid far too much because of their appeal. Now we have celebrities who are told by so many people that they're better than the rest of us poor common folk that they truly believe it.

I'm sorry, what?

Forbes: Box Office: 'Suicide Squad' Is Now Leggier Than 'Captain America: Civil War'
Deadline Hollywood: ‘Sully’ Flies Higher In Offshore Debut; ‘Suicide Squad’ Squashes $700M WW – International Box Office Final
Rolling Stone: On the Charts: 'Suicide Squad' Reigns Again

But the media won't acknowledge its success, huh?

It's funny, because even if they weren't (when they quite obviously are), the film's financial success should speak for itself, right? It's getting sequels, it's getting spinoffs. It's huge. Why is that not enough?

Why do nerds always so desperately want the approval of normies?

It's not a good look, let me tell you.

Of the staggering three articles you linked one starts of with mentioning the "huge drop-off" for both the movie and the soundtrack sales...

It did have a huge dropoff--67% in its second week.

Compare with Captain America: Civil War, which had a 59% dropoff, and that was described as "big."

Where's the unfair treatment? Or do you just have a problem with outlets reporting facts?
