Suggestions For Post "Scorpion" Voyager?

Similitude

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Finally got Netflix streaming so I figured it would be a great chance to catch up on some Voyager.

I stopped watching right around Scorpion (Even though I loved Scorpion) for a variety of reasons. I have seen some episodes post Scorpion (I think all the Barclay episodes, Year of Hell, Equinix, Out of Time or Timeless? and the Finale).

I liked the show up until Scorpion even though I thought Seasons 1 and 2 had a lot of really boring episodes. I'm a much bigger TNG, DS9 and ENT fan.

All that being said I want to see some of the really good Voyager episodes from the last few seasons, so do you guys have any recommendations?

I usually enjoy Tuvok, Janeway, Paris stories. Not a Neelix fan at all, and not really a Chakotay fan either. But really if an episode is great I'll try it out.

Any suggestions?

Season 4 really picks up with Sevens character being introduced, and really overall is a pretty solid season of the show. I'd honestly recommend seeing the rest of the show in general it could be my personal opinion because I love Voyager however if you really only want to watch only a portion of episodes ill recommend some essential ones in or past season 4:

Dark Frontier parts 1&2(highlight of season 5 absolute thrill story with a conflict against the Borg queen felt like Voyagers version of First Contact).

Year Of Hell Parts 1 &2
(shows what is Voyager really got into some drastic trouble) the Killing game Parts 1&2(shows how menacing the Hirogen can be) both in season 4 with 2 great parters which is more of my opinion why season 4 is some of the best of the series.

Some others as well not really in any order just sorta as they come off my head:

Equinox, parts 1 &2 season 5

Someone to watch over me season 5- considered a classic episode really touching Seven of Nine character development.

Message in a Bottle season 4- somewhat of a essential episode as its Voyagers first contact with Starfleet after being trapped in the Delta Quadrant.

I know kinda a random list and theres definitely several more episodes I could recommend but thats a start.

The really *top notch* episodes after Scorpion that very comfortably compete with the best of all Trek are

-Prey
-Living Witness
-Counterpoint
-Latent Image
-Dark Frontier
-Barge of the Dead
-Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy
-Blink of an Eye
-Muse
-Critical Care
-Lineage
-Author, Author

Most of the best episodes post Scorpion belong to B'Ellana, Seven and the EMH. but the best Janeway/Tuvok/Paris episodes are
-The Gift (Janeway)
-Year of Hell (Janeway)
-Prey (Janeway)
-Thirty Days (Tom)
-Counterpoint (Janeway_
-Gravity (Tuvok/Tom)
-11:59 (Janeway)
-Riddles...(Tuvok)
-Lineage (Tom)

Frankly, there really aren't that many excellent Tuvok or Paris episodes, and there really aren't that many "Janeway episodes"- mainly just episodes where stuff happens and she's involved a lot because she's the captain. Its much easier to pick out top notch EMH/Seven episodes.

If you watch the best ones first, it only means that you'll watch the worst ones last.

Who the hell wants to watch 40 awful episodes in a row?

I'd just watch it like a normal person.

Some episodes you'll like, some you'll dislike. Seems simple really.

Just start right up with Season four and dive in. The water gets warmer.

I like the Hirogen episodes, too, so I'd recommend The Killing Game and Part II.

Any ep with Seven Of Nine. :D

Leaving out any smutty implications...

Any Episode that is about Seven and is not an episode with Seven tacked onto the end...there's a B'Lanna episode that does that and it just feels painful...

Dark Frontier. It is an excellent 2 hour "movie" that explores Seven's backstory in a way that it easily could be viewed after Scorpion.

^ Just try not to be too disappointed when you realise that all the character development will be undone by the next episode...*sigh*

"I am Annika Hanson, human" - but for the rest of the series I will continue to be called Seven of Nine, will never leave the cargo bay, will attempt to improve myself along the line of Borg Drones and will never request a uniform outside of a fantasy...

That should have been the turning point for Annika as a character, but it wasn't...

Eh, I kind of disagree. She tries dating, develops a taste for cooking (which was previously seen as irrelevant) and develops a desire for a normal life - uniform, rank, husband. I think she did change throughout the show and was one of the only characters who did.

All except the cooking are a Reg Barclay TM holodeck romp...

i think you should try Void,Flesh and blood as well as Workforce and unimatrix 0. those were really amazing episodes.
and as a Seven of Nine treat: Raven,Gift, imperfection, body and soul etc are very tasty.
