Successful spinoffs?

Personally im waiting for "Holby: Childrens Ward" to air on the CBBC Chanenl
Of course, CITV did the Childrens Ward thing first. :p
very true, but what have CITV done recently?

im also thinking BBC 3 could have a show called Holby Vice, a "cutting edge gritty urban" drama about the seedy underworld of the city of Holby, and the characters that make it up.
Holby: Critical Mass - a sci-fi series about Holby's brand new particle physics laboratory which goes awry, with hilarious consequences. Who needs credibility? :bolian:

Weren't the Naked Gun movies a spin off of a TV show? I think it was called Police Squad or something along those lines.

No, the movies were based on the TV series, which came out in the early 80s, lasted about six episodes and gained a cult following which led to the first Naked Gun.

Successful Spin Offs are harder to list than just plain spin-offs since most of them fail.

The City is a spin-off of The Hills which is a spin-off of Laguna Beach.

Private Practice is a spin-off of Grey's Anatomy.

Batman Beyond was a total spin-off of Batman:TAS. There were characters that existed in BB, like Barbara Gordon and Mr. Freeze that made it clear they were part of the TAS. Plus Bruce kept the Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Harley Quinn and I think a couple of costumes in glass cases. Those were straight out of TAS. And Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker has flashbacks which are TAS scenes.

Melrose Place was a spin-off of Beverly Hills 90210.

The Parkers was a spin-off of Moesha.

Rhoda was mentioned but Phyllis and Lou Grant were also spun-off from The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
