Stupid?

:guffaw:

WTF? A couple pay a complete stranger in a carpark £500 for a Laptop they didn't even take the trouble to actually look at. They're darned lucky to have survived their own stupidy for so long.

Unless there was some kind of weapon/threat involved in the sales pitch, even then, I can't really have any sympathy for people. £500 isn't even cheap for fups sake!

I am having some trouble believeing that some bored Journo didn't just completely make that up. Is anybody really that dumb? :wtf:

They took what they thought to be a highly valuable package from an untrustworthy source in a parking lot without verifying the contents first? I thought that kind of scam only worked on 'Prison Break.'

Pc Helen Kerry said: "We would also warn people to be on their guard when buying second-hand goods, especially approaches from strangers with no address or contact information.

"Also, make sure you are actually handed the item you have paid for."

You know she wanted to add "It would also be enormously helpful if you didn't act like complete morons."

"Give me your contact information. I'm going to give you day by day status updates on the performance of this machine."

I'll have you know that if some assmunch tried to sell me a bag of lemons for 500 pounds as a laptop, I would hobble them. It would significantly impede their stride.

EDIT: Shit, I just looked out the window and saw the guy with the mustache. Is the BBC's number still 911?

Yeah, but that's still not as bad as the people who smear honey on their little kids so a bear would lick them at a park like Yellowstone, only to see the bear eat a piece of that poor kid.
