Spoilers Stranger Things - Season 4

The Nth Doctor

While it might be awhile before we get a trailer or even a premiere date, yesterday we found out the title for the first episode: "The Hellfire Club."

More likely it's a reference to the X-Men secret society and not the supposedly real secret society of sex.

Along with that news, we also got blooper reels for each season:

Yeah, with so many other pop culture references in the show, I'm pretty sure that's probably taken from the X-Men comics.
I'm curious what the significance of it will be to the story. Could they be introducing some kind Upside Down related secret society? Or maybe it's just what the characters start calling themselves now?

Turns out the simplest explanation was the correct one!

I'm still hoping we'll get some flashback of Hopper in the Upside Doen before getting captured by the Russians (I'm still sticking to that particular theory).

Even though it was discounted here, I'm also still hoping Brenner will return at some point.

Wow, I wasn't expecting to get an answer on that until the actual start of the season.
Do we know if there was any overlap between this and when he was filming Hellboy?
I was just wondering if we might get some episodes without him.

Surprising absolutely no one...

I'm just glad they got it out of the way immediately instead of trying to drag it out and be secretive about something so obvious.

The article on IGN also includes a little tease about the Season from the Duffer Bros.
"We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway -- and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although it’s not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human...and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything… Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet, and we cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime -- pray for the American."

Agreed. Hopper is one of the true anchors of the show, so it was doubtful they would kill him off.

I continue to be impressed by the Duffer Bros sense of class--they know their tropes and don't underestimate the audience. We knew that he would be back so why keep it a secret?

Regarding filming, the way these series are done--with everything being written in advance--means that Hopper's role could be filmed even while he was doing other work. Set up all his scenes for whatever time he has available. If he only has a few scenes with the other characters, then he could even still be filming.

If production is just beginning, then I'm assuming the footage in the teaser was filmed just for it, rather than being an actual scene from one of the episodes.

Well it's not like they have a history of doing that. Quite the opposite in fact since the season 2 trailers were all about how "yes, relax, Eleven is alive!" ;)

^ :D

Hey--the Duffers are just channeling their inner "Dee" from What's Happening! with Erica!
Yes, I had forgotten about Dee, I was thinking a bit Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes or early Tootie from Facts of Life but Dee is spot on but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Aww...I love Erica! I think she's awesome!
I don't hate her but it was maybe laid on a little too thick, hopefully in the next season she sells the drama and threat as well as the funny.
