Brett Gelman has also been promoted to series regular.

There the russian work camp, that's surely going to be a setting. It was also talked about how the show will move beyond Hawkins significantly so it may just be the result of the storyline going forward that they need this new facility (and it may cut down on costs for location scouting).

I was hoping maybe it was far enough along that they could finish in time for it to come out, but apparently not.

You know with child actors you might see some weird stuff were the kids all of sudden look much older between scenes. It's also possible because of this we might be looking at the final season of the show.

During a Q&A at Liverpool Comic-Con back in March, David Harbour revealed that the new season will have some kind of a huge revealed related to Hopper's backstory, and the Dad, Vietnam, and New York boxes Eleven found last season. He says that it's his favorite thing about Hopper that we haven't learned yet, and that's it's been a part of his backstory since the beginning, but they just haven't revealed it until now.
I wonder if the author of the Hopper in New York novel, Darkness on the Edge of Town, knew about it, at least enough for the novel not to contradict it.

Well, there are some small contradictions in Suspicious Minds with Terry's story and even Kali's as we see on screen. Nothing big but little things that stood out to me after I rewatched all of the flashbacks after reading the book. So it could go either way.

I was wondering about that. I still want to read the books though, I'm happy to overlook a few minor inconsistencies as long as I enjoy the story.

I love the show but I really hope it is the final season as I dont want to see it dragged out into mediocrity and with a cast of "kids" on the cusp of their 20s.
I really think season 3 had a fantastic and tidy ending and Im worried we will look back and wish it was the finale

While we'll still have to wait until well into 2021 for season 4 to drop, Stranger Things comics writer Jody Houser announced on Twitter that a comic crossover of Stranger Things and Dungeons & Dragons will launch in November.

If the kids look older they can always write it into the story, just say more time passed than you originally planned.

I hope they get the planned ending they wrote for.

I don't think COVID is ever going to end. It's really going to look weird when we see one of the kids go from one scene as a teenage kid running into a building and then inside the building instantly becomes a 30 year man with stubble wearing the same outfit and acting like nothing has changed.

Maybe their 30 yearoyear selves could travel back to season one through the down below to change time and the FX team could do a trials and tribbleations style thing

The disease COVID-19 is never going to go away, but once we get things under control and have vaccines life will go back to normal.

Wasn't the intent before it blew up and became a massively popular show for the whole thing to be anthology based, with a different set of characters and story each season? Once the kids age out, they could always go back to that idea...Then in 5 years once everyone hates the new stuff, they just bring back the old cast, all grown up...
