Strange New Worlds' showrunners advise fans to write to Skydance and Paramount if they're interested in a "Year One" Kirk sequel series

^

Exactly that. In many ways, it would allow for a deeper exploration of that period of the 23rd century, without bumping up again previously established canon. I for one, would love to see the characters of Vanguard brought to life on the screen, not to mention seeing the base itself realized.

I'm 110% for whatever the SNW producers want to do.

It won't happen. Probably.

If not, I'm for PSKY cleaning house and putting new folks in charge of the IP. Because the other live-action stuff they've emitted for streaming has been pretty crappy.

I would absolutely love the proposed Kirk: Year One series.

Do I think such a serious will happen?

Unfortunately, no.

Post 2027, I think Paramount/Skydance will take streaming Trek in a whole new Direction. What that direction is I have no idea.

Including the 14 episodes of Star Trek Discovery season 2, I'm pretty satisfied with the 60 episodes of Pike Trek we'ill have by 2027. ( 63 if you include The Cage and The Menagerie.)

Including the 80 episodes of the original Star Trek series, and Star Trek Discovery seasons one and two that's 155 live action episodes set in the TOS 23rd century era that started with The Cage. (177 if you include TAS.)

Can we write it if we're wholeheartedly against such a premise? If I want to see Kirk mishandled again, I'll just go re-watch Abrams Dreck and the episodes of Kurtz Dreck that feature "Kirk."

Yeah, I’m thinking of writing to tell them I DONT want a Year One series. I’ve had sufficient. I want something completely new.

I'm in with the crowd that want something new, not Kirk.

Unless..

"Dear Paramount SkyDance Viacom CBS, I have a pitch for you. A Trek show that will dazzle with its writing."
*DPSKVC execs nod*
"And it will cost you barely any actor costs.
*They nod more* "AI?" they ask.
"No, no... I say. And you won't need to spend money on a single set."
*DPSKVC execs get excited*
"And you can have well over 100 episodes, great for streaming binges."
*DPSKVC execs bang the desk Ferengi-style with excitement* "What is it? What is it?"
"Make DS9 HD."

*I exit the room*
