Patricia Quinn ... She was Magenta on Rocky Horror Picture Show. (And Dr. Nation McKinley in its sequel, Shock Treatment, which I think only two people on this board have ever seen.)

I've been meaning to see it. I saw a pretty cheap used copy of it at FYE yesterday. But I'm trying to limit my DVD buying somewhat right now (although I did splurge when I found used copies of "Black Orchid" & the 1st season of Fringe at Bookmans on Sunday).

I just watched "The Hand of Fear" again last night. A solid Tom Baker outing. I like Roy Skelton's portrayal of King Rokon, "All hail Eldrad! King of... nothing." The chemistry between the 4th Doctor & Sarah Jane here is solid. I love the intense concern he shows for her after she gets buried in the quarry explosion, in particular his curt exchanges with the Indian doctor. He asks the Doctor where he got his medical degree...
"Gallifrey."
"I don't know it. Perhaps it's in Ireland."
"Probably."

Shouty Eldrad gets a bit old, but it's not a bad one really. The last 5 minutes is golden thanks to a wonderful (ad lib?) performance from Baker & Sladen.

watched The Pirate Planet and The Stones of Blood today. at first i didn't think i would like Pirate Planet but i got into it. some pretty interesting, over the top, concepts being played with. Stones was alright. didn't hate it or anything, but my attention did wander in places.

Watched The Deadly Assassin last week and am settling in to watch Genesis of the Daleks tonight. LOVE Netflix!

watched The Creature From The Pit and City of Death. City was pretty good, though i wish they had followed more of the different versions of Scaroth that were scattered through time. and interesting concept.

I just watched "The Web of Fear". Poor Patrick Troughton! So many of his episodes are lost. The outstanding sets, music, sound effects, and overall grim outlook through most of the show must have made these episodes one of the reasons Doctor Who gained a reputation for chasing children behind the couch in fear.

Apparently, there was a special preview trailer shot with Troughton that aired at the conclusion of the previous episode. Though also lost, the audio survived, and an enterprising fan recreated the video with CGI.

I just watched "The Web of Fear". Poor Patrick Troughton! So many of his episodes are lost. The outstanding sets, music, sound effects, and overall grim outlook through most of the show must have made these episodes one of the reasons Doctor Who gained a reputation for chasing children behind the couch in fear.

One of the most impressive things about this production is the amazing quality of the London Underground sets. They were so realistic that the BBC received calls from people complaining that there shouldn't be people filming in the underground..

On an unrelated note, I watched The Time Meddler again on Sunday night. One of the better Hartnell stories.

i watched The Leisure Hive this morning. while it had some interesting concepts i just couldn't get into it much.

Watched the first episode of "The Three Doctors" last night. It was a lot slower than I remembered. Nice to see the doctors riffing on each other, though. Loved Hartnell's "dandy and a clown" line.

I'm not at all surprised ... before looking the episode up for more details, I too thought they had acquired access to a disused portion of the Underground. What I saw was thoroughly convincing. If only there were some way to get the original video back.

And thanks for "The Time Meddler" recommendation. I'll be sure to check that out next.
