Storage Prices have gone insane!!

Yeah, the next PlayStation and XBOX will cost between 1000 and 1400 as well i think...

$2,038 CAD plus tax for the 2TB model + Steam Controller. I would say, it's about the price of a gaming PC. Interesting though that the base model is automatically $500 more in Canada compared to its price in the U.S, sitting at $1,509 CAD vs $1,049 USD.

I need a 12TB drive to back up my NAS, so I can switch its file format. And that's about $500 today, which is nuts. I'll see if they drop at all during Prime Day tomorrow.

because from what i saw on many episodes of storage wars if there are tech stuff inside the storages at the storage auctions some of the tech stuff can be worth alot if they are like brand new not used and not opened

I was watching the latest video from Craft Computing yesterday and Jeff raised the point that the Steam Machine has released both too later and too early (issue about 4K performance etc aside)

Too late because the prices due to the shortage on storage and ram have massively increase what the customer is paying compared to where they would have been even last November.

The too early is because the pricing was announced before we started to see prices increases from other vendors (Apple though they're not in the game space, and believe the PS5 has also had an increase for starters) and we'll see more as they have to negotiate next years prices.

ps5 went up twice I think. xbox just went up. I think they're gonna kill this generation and rush all the new consoles out next year before all the RAM and storage costs triple again

Yeah, that is a fair assessment. It's really too bad, because at the right price point, it could be some killer value, especially if they market it the right way as a gateway into PC gaming for those who aren't already into it.
