I'm a little confused on how best to help towards our current goals, used to be that we needed enough dilithium to crush the Mutara Nebula. Now it's duty officers. I'm trying to contribute to the various tasks going on, but they're typically all needing doffs when I get to them, making it tough to build up fleet credit. We can use fleet credit to get more doffs right?
Are there any tasks we can do that are good for dilithium? That's a quick way to build up fleet credit fast, which we could turn over into doffs, and into projects. I'm a play for a couple weeks and then be gone for the same amount of time or longer then come back, so I miss the planning sometimes.
Are there pieces of the puzzle I'm getting wrong?

We are running provisioning projects to provide opportunity to build up fleet credits. Those need a bit of dilithium.
There is also the Starbase special projects which require only a small amount of different contributions.
I try to run them as often as possible, too

If the slot for special project is open, ask any adjutant to start one for you. It's easy enough for a single person to fill.

Yeah, I just spent all my fleet credits to get some doffs at the fleet starbase for the projects. And then those FC earned by donating doffs, until I was totally broke. I hoped to get more FC with dilithium, but all's filled. In one project there is 1 (one!) SCI doff needed to get it going, and I couldn't find a way of getting a few hundred FC to get him LOL

Wanted to know if I could get an invite....haven't played in forever, been off and on since the beginning of the game...am in a diff fleet now but I think they are in a diff timezone as I hardly see any and have not really been responded to via messaging... whats the etiquette on that anyway?

depends on how your relation with the old fleet is. If you have friends in there, it would be polite to send them a notice that you leave. if not, just leave.

Good that we got a bunch of provisioning projects going, but think we're starting to overdo it. We're now doing them at the expense of the starbase projects, which have slowed down. It's stealing away the needed DOFFs...

The point of the provisioning projects were not the provisions. People needed projects to generate fleet credits to have an easy way to buy doffs from the fleet store for the main projects.
Maybe we should make that more clear.

Alright, well, I left the fleet, I never really met anyone or anything.....like I said, I wasn't a die-hard player, in fact, I haven't played the game in almost a year....I realistically will probably only be able to play between 3-5 hours weekly, I haven't spent much money (bought an excelsior and some d.o. packs 2 years ago) I'm not a competitive player, I just mill around....right now I'm on Risa trying to earn the Ferengi ship...anyway, looking foward to joining, will try to socialize more.....Radcliff@aricad. Not sure if people are willing to dump 85k per projects with so many other dili sinks around, though. We'll see.
The dilithium mine holding doeesn not have those dili only projects, the regular provisioning there are the only option. However the majority of doffs needed for those are civilian which are useless for the main base projects.

Typically new members get promoted quickly enough if they are minimally sociable.
Go look for any adjutant on the roster to give you a temp promotion in the meantime to get your ship.
The recruit rank is there to prevent exploitation of members we don't know well enough yet.
It is helpful to join the TrekBBS channel.
Type the following into the in-game chat:
/channel_join TrekBBS Subspace Com

Yep, keeps randoms from robbing the fleet bank or burning a bunch of our provisions before wandering off again. Shoot someone a message if you see them online, and they'll set you up.
Also helps (but not mandatory) if you kick in some towards the various fleet projects. Takes some effort to get those provisions, plus the levels to unlock the actual items, so more people donating towards the next upgrade is always appreciated. DOFFs seem to be our big item of need at the moment, towards the next big Starbase upgrade.
