We just had our first fleet get together at Earth Spacedock. During the meet and greet we decided we need to do something as a fleet.
So we are looking to set up a fleet event on Friday Feb 12th. We were thinking a casual event at first, to give people who can play a chance to get to know each other. We are spread across many time zones, so I was thinking it could start early and run late with people coming in when they can and leaving when they need to.
I am off on Friday so I can coordinate over most of the day.
I was thinking we could have people in the same level range team up for missions and PVP action.
To enhance the communication between members during play the fleet will use Steam for chat. Steam accounts are free and easy to create. Some of you probably already have Steam accounts (Akiraprise you may not be buying the game from them, but it makes talking much easier
), but for the rest it only takes a few minutes.
My Steam handle is aeliusN7. After you set up your account please send me a friend invite and I can help everyone get on each others lists. This has the added advantage of showing when other fleet members are playing making teaming up easier.

I just got off of a marathon session with several members and had a blast. We were doing missions that were crazy above our levels and it was fun. I look forward to many more sessions in the, hopefully, years to come.

I got STO last night. I like the game very much but as it's my first MMORPG I still have lots to learn. So while I don't love it, I literally will learn to through getting to know how shields, communications and skillsets work. I hoped on joining the fleet a lot sooner but I'm going to hold off for now as i'd clearly be the weak link.
I just made Commander last night (Rising through the ranks goes a lot faster on STO than here on the board ;-))

The other players don't really bother to go there as far as I can tell, since there isn't really anything to do there other than socializing.

Congratulations Thafool, I look forward to more insane level missions now that you have a Heavy Cruiser.
Yes the lounge is a good place to meet, but this isn't going to be a fixed time event. So just use the Fleet tab to see which members are in game and we will try to create teams in the rough level range to do missions.
At some point in the day, if was have a bunch of toons in the right level range, I would like to get multiple 5 Captain teams to do a fleet action. That would be epic.
