I wondered where you were!!!! I'll have a galaxy class within the next day or two I hope :O)
I went to the Computer store and they gave me another card, since they couldn't get a picture on their test computer as well.
But the new card is not giving me a video signal either.
So tomorrow I'll take my whole PC to the store and ask them to make it work, I don't care what it takes..
In the meantime I tried to play the game on my notebook, but I can only start it with simple aweful looking VGA quality and even then it crashes the second I try to enter the first map.
I play mine on my macbook maxed out (minus shadows which slow it right down! more ram??) and I have a 3g broadband dongle so can play pretty much from anywhere I want. Not got too far though as don't usually have a lot of time to play. I'm Commander 6 now though! Woooo!
With any luck I'm back in the game when you make Captain... Then we can continue together on equal footing.

Okay how do get promoted from recruit in a fleet?
There is a thread about creating fleet only instances for missions and fleet actions. The devs have said in the thread that they are considering the option and are interested in player feedback.
